The Ranking (wbafc, bafc, afc... PUA, etc) under your handle

Got something to say?

Actually, that's an inaccurate assessment. I know him quite well. He's a stay-at-home dad with lots of time on his hands, and is a VERY social person. He posts a lot because he has a LOT to say :P

dalustin society

i really like what the austin society requires of their full fledged members. though i am not one myself (i just found out about it after i moved out of austin a year ago) i give them props for not allowing just anyone to be a brother until they accomplish a set number of mandatory field reports. i think that this would be a positive addition to our community and we could than designate an alternate ranking system in addition. i believe that if the field reports for such positions were prerequesets for an ulterior ranking syetem and simultaneously visible to the community, we could all read of peoples skills, tactics employed and sucess. this would further help the community as others could view sucess and offer additional suggestions. Naturally privacy is important and conquest annonomity (ie no names/ changed to protect the sexy) would be a requirement. a moderator could ensure this by reviewing and editing field reports prior to community release. I think that ten individual field reports could be the first step and members could make them as detailed as desired. perhaps only people who have recorded their experiences could view others experiences. let me know what you think.

Actually this is something some of the guys and I have been talking about lately.

There are a few ideas being floated around, one of which is establishing a rank distinction between people who have attended some event and have thereby met some other people in person, versus only having talked online.

Linking status to FRs can have an unintended drawback that there becomes an incentive to post bogus FRs, which doesn't help anyone. I don't see this as a big problem but it is a concern.

I feel status should come from the quality of a person's posts. Such a thing can't be automatically measured, so each person needs to mentally keep track of who says the good stuff and who doesn't.

The "has met a person in RL" marking would be informative as to at least one aspect of someone's involvement.

I like how Austin does it. I'm not sure what the inside of their forum looks like, but I like the overall concept of providing a certain access to anyone who signs up and then granting access to other areas on a case-by-case basis.

The rank designations actually meaning something would be cool too. Even if we don't require field reports (which I don't think would be a bad idea) it would at least make sure that everyone is who we say we are and not some PUA's ex-girlfriend trying to get in on his shit.

i think the only good way to get to know a person is face-to-face. so if a lair requires field reports then im just too lazy to write it. i can go out by myself just fine anyway.

im going to ohio but their lair needs not only 1, but THREE FRs. im thinking just forget about it and just play inside the college networks. its not like a clan thing where you have to prove yourself and work your way up. its just a group for people who have similar interests.
Nothing is ever a big deal.

Is it that hard to write a FR? The point of a lair is to help and share with your fellow PUAs. In a tribe of cavemen, the man who doesn't hunt doesn't eat. A man who doesn't contribute to the tribe has no value to it.

Although I don't post a FR every time I go out, I've come up with a guideline that I use to decide what goes up: when a night goes really well and I have insights into what I did correctly, or when something happens that I want opinions on. Most of my posts have to do with giving advice/opinions, trying to help, and aren't FRs. In the time I've been here I would say that written enough posts to be able to claim I'm committed to it.

IMO I would rather see a small group of guys dedicated to helping others than a large group of guys who don't contribute. In thinking about the ranking system, the first thing that comes to mind is that it doesn't matter anyway. If I'm listed as an MPUA or a total AFC, it won't incent me to change what I do anyway; it won't change my core values.

That said, my thinking is that the AFC levels should be set by # of posts, and that you need to have a further qualification to progress beyond that. Things like coming to meetups and sharing what you've learned, being asked to instruct at a meetup (and doing it to the best of your ability), that sort of thing. At least that way a member can know who the committed people are, and who the lurkers are.
The four agreements:
1. Be impeccable with your words and deeds.
2. Never take anything personally.
3. Never make assumptions.
4. Always do your best.

the purpose of my forementioned sugestion is not because i desire respect in any forum members eyes simply for an acronym next to my name. my now 9! posts does not leave me strategizing future spamming for rapport raising purposes. however i do respect the active community and enjoy using this forum to better myself while assisting others. the idea of a specific inner community of fr writers (which are viewable and adviceable) appeals to me because i believe it would add an aditional option to further benefit members with the desire.
thats my humble opinion on the matter
