I am young, successful and very fit. At 22, I am a cancer survivor. I consider myself a strong and secure individual. I am attractive and don't have much trouble keeping women interested. However, the initial pickup has always been difficult. I also find myself hung up on women I am more then just physically attracted to. I find myself frustrated when a women I am interested in is dating a minimum wage, frat jerk that is 2-4 years removed from college and still playing the role ( no offense to anyone fitting the profile). I am almost exclusively interested in older women, 23-28 and it is also frustrating when my age becomes a turn off. Most of my friends are 23+ and people are always surprised to hear my actual age. I am successful dating older women when they are introduced to me through friends. However, picking up older women in bars, etc. becomes difficult because no matter how hard I try to steer them away from it, the question always comes up.

I recently read The Game and found the story and theories interesting. I am continuing to read other books on the subject. Most of my friends are lifelong friends and I love them... but they are serious introverts and horrible wingmen. I am a recovering introvert and a rum and coke or two boosts my confidence enough to approach anyone. I am hoping to find some new wingmen/accomplices that wont bore the obstacle and fuck my chances. My intentions are only good. I am looking to pick up girls for relationships, not one night stands. Any wingmen must have similar intentions... but an occasional one-nighter is to be expected with alcohol and picking up women.

I ran into this problem when I was younger. I have always preferred older women and still do even at 32. The answer is to hang out and sarge with older, more mature guys. Guys in the target age range of the girls you want. Familiarity by association. There are also tactics to defer or deny the old "age question" thing too. I lost some seriously hot girls back in the day to that so I had to come up with something!

Welsh is right on with his point... if u sarge with older guys you will get the "maturity" social proof to the older chicks you open.

Since I'm on a younger chick kick these days, it might be good to sarge together.

Then again, you could just look for cougars... they love fresh meat.

I have been hanging out with a 40 something friend from work that looks like he is in his 30s. He was also a GM at Hooters and has introduced me to a couple of girls. Except they have turned out to be hot and not much else. I want the whole package. Someone with looks, intelligence and direction. If anyone is late 20s, 30s and wants to show a young buck how its done, let me know. I prefer going out in Addison and Uptown but open to others.

you like older women? hmmmm... i'm your polar opposite. since i broke 30 i'm liking the 21-24 year olds even more. yummmmmy.

i don't know if you can apply my strategy i'll describe below (since reverse of what you are doing and women are sensitive to age -- you may want to stay off the subject) but maybe there can be a spin here.

i sometimes use an opener when i see a hot 21-23 year old, i'll say, "wow, you are soooooo my type. if you were only a little older you would be sooooo mine." they always come back and ask my age and say, "but guys always like younger girls." and my response is always, "yeah, that's great, but i need a real woman." next thing you know they are selling themselves to you (so they can win you and snubb you), but i keep plowing. this puts them in the mindset they are pursuing me. good stuff.

i used to get dogged by younger girls i approached, but now, by stealing their frame, they end up explaining themselves to me. don't ask me why it works, but it just does???
