vector and HB try to help JB with online target

Vector...Dude...that was fun. I had a blast!!! We need to do that again.

I'm assuming you read that post. Met Vector and his HB at Hooters around 7PM. We hung out there, drank a beer and then headed to Southern Junction where I was supposed to meet this Latina HB chick and her friend/roommate. Earlier in the day Saturday I received an e-mail from the girl saying she wasn't really into the Southern Junction thing and would be at "weekends". I sent her a reply saying I really wanted steak and that SJ had a rep of having good steak and I'd see her there at 8. Then I left to go meet Vector. Got to SJ at 8...HB was not there. Called her and she said she was going to be at "Weekends" later and I could come meet her after we ate if I wanted too and that she'd really like to meet me. SJ is mostly a couples/family type of place as I found out. There were a few single women, but not many. We ate, and then headed to Weekends. Vector did approach a two set on the way out and I got the impression that the HB he was with was not too happy about it! LOL. So we get to Weekends. I called HB Latina and told her I was there and to meet me outside. We went outside and waited for about 5 min and I didn't see her. So we went back inside and there were several HB's in the place, and I was not 100% sure which HB she was. There were several HBs inside Weekends. We went to the bar to get drinks and Vector opened a single set at the bar. There was one HB who I thought might be the one I was looking for. Vector asked the girl her name and she saed "Mary". I was thinking...."maybe that's really her, but she sees me and I'm not her type so she's lying about her name"....and I thought my inner game was better than that! WTF? I decided to text the HB, and while I'm typing my message, she called and said she was outside, but she ran into her ex boyfriend at the club and they are "talking", but she still wants to meet me. Vector, his HB and I all went outside and I finally met Melissa and her roommate. Melissa turned out to be a latina HB 7 or 8. Very nice. Her roommate was the typical "fat" friend. I introduced myself and my friends to all three (Latina HB, her rommie and ex-bf). I got the feeling that latina HB and the ex-bf were involved in deep conversation and that I was not exactly a welcomed sight. After introductions we all went inside except for Latina HB and her ex. They stayed outside to "talk". I went to the bar and got another beer, which took forever. I came back from the bar and found Vector and his HB....Latina HB's roomie left the group. Later, HB latina came back inside, walked right by me along with her ex, and roommate without saying a word to me. All week long she had been giving good indications on the phone that she wanted to meet. Oh well....After that shit I saw a blonde chick standing with her friend and decided to ask her to dance (it was a country song). We danced/chatted a bit and then went our separate ways. Then, Vector opened a two set at a large table...however, when the "how do you all know each other" question was asked they stated that their kids played together...oops..they were both married....eject, eject, eject!!! After that Vector was explaining how timing was important when running openers. He used the "Are you a typical dallas girl" opener as an example on a three set. These girls seemed to be really young (early 20s). After he opened the set one of girls' mother came over and asked him if he was hitting on her daughter. He said, "yes, I am"!!!! LOL. That was pretty funny. Mild frame battle there. After a few minutes I heard the mom say "and you're still talking to him". After he asked the group if they were typical dallas girls and they said "no", he ignored them and then one of them asked, "well, what is a typical Dallas girl?" I liked that opener.

BTW, the band at Weekends really sucked!

After we left Weekends, I came back home and went to a country dive bar not far from my house and opened a couple of sets by myself and danced with a few girls.

The Latina HB was yummy, plus she seemed like a pretty cool chick from talking with her all week...and she seemed like she really wanted to meet me. It really pisses me off that she treated me like that.

That was fun. It sucked that your girl blew you off like that.. but it takes more than that to stop us from having a good time.

The girl I was with did complain some later about me talking to other girls. I really didn't care though. I would be fine with dropping her, because she is really low on the list of girls I care about.

That time with the three young girls, the Dallas Girl Opener went perfectly. Better than usual in fact. After I backturn the set, I usually have to re-engage. They usually don't tap me on the shoulder and interrupt me to find out why I was asking.

The whole thing with the mom saying "Are you hitting on my daughter?" only served to boost my value even more. Her mental frame was that she had "caught" me doing something wrong and that she was in charge. I said "Yes I am," confidently, and then shrugged slightly, hands palm up, with a face that says, "wtf, DUH!". Which follows from my frame of, this is normal, you're weird for stating/asking the obvious. And that was it. She was deflated and I just ignored her after that.


As for the timing, I have been thinking about the mental progression in the first few seconds of opening, and I think it goes something like this:
1. Why are you talking to me?
2. What is the story behind what you just said to me?
3. Hm, that was weird, oh well.

So if I ask if a girl is from Dallas and immediately follow with a story, the girl will still be wondering why I'm talking to her, and will stay in that "why is this strange person talking to me" state. That's bad.

On the other hand, if I wait too long between asking and re-engaging, they will lose interest and their curiosity will fade. I've made this mistake before with the dallas girl opener and the girls would stand there for about 15 seconds and then wander off.

I think the same happens with "I like salad." Of course the body language is totally different, but still I can't launch into the story immediately. I declare my liking for salad and then stand there and wait. Pretty soon they are wondering what kind of story is behind it, that would make me make such a strange statement to someone I don't even know.

I think the same applies somewhat to regular openers that don't have deliberate pauses in them. It's a matter of tempo and overall polish in the delivery. You want them to be interested in the matter at hand and not focused on the fact that some strange person is talking to them.
