i think covering catchy songs that are pretty much forgotten about would be cool... how many times have you heard a cover and not known it was a cover until later and given the band credit for the song... stuff like that

No, unfortunately, I don't have a drum set anymore. I have moved too many times....

I prefer to do covers of old, popular songs. Kind of like the way Bowling for Soup did Summer of 69. It is cheesy, but the songs are easy to play and sing, and the audience gets all excited when they hear it, especially the girls.
Recently, a Disney girl band did Since You've Been Gone by Rainbow. It was a hit, naturally, because it was a catchy toon back then.

Talked with a friend today, Chaos on the board,we may have a drummer.
Edit: he has a kit also.
Also, Sherlocks at Northpark has an open mic night on Tuesdays. Might be a good place to start.
As a band we have to introduce ourselves. "Hey guys...we are Sarging!"
I couldnt keep a straight face on stage at that one.
Also, some possible Sarging songs(with obvious themes):
Ring of fire as covered by social distortion (rockin tune!)
You wreck me : Tom petty
Shimmer: Fuel
Whole lotta love: Led Zeppelin (saw a band do this at sherlocks addison. the place went nuts!)
Kiss me in the dark: Randy rogers band
Desire: U2
Baby please dont go: Aerosmith
Bargain: tho who (absolute classic)
back door man: the doors
gimme some lovin: spencer davis group
blues before and after: the smithereens (lost classic)
Get ready: rare earth
Pure Morning: Placebo
Want you bad: offspring
Sweet goddess of love and beer: pappa chubby (great blues rock)
Cinnamon girl: neil young
are you gonna go my way: lenny kravitz

good morning little school girl: johnny lang
