Every PUA has to start somewhere: nobody is born that way. Looking at the myriad of tactics and techniques out there can definitely be overwhelming. And it's especially difficult if you try to frame your learning within the context of a specific guru's teachings. My advice would be as follows:
Don't read too much material before you start approaching: a lot of guys fall into the keyboard-jockey syndrome this way. Do read up on Mystery's M3 model and learn what the phases are so you have a basic outline to follow. If you're already able to walk up and talk to a girl - even if you don't know what to do beyond that - you're already halfway there. Just figure out where your sticking point is and work on it until you've overcome it - then move on to the next thing. And by "work on" I mean going out and fixing it in the field, not reading more about it.
If your problem is the initial approach, there's nothing any guru can do for you until you overcome that anxiety. It's an unnatural thing for everyone, and every person in this community has felt some anxiety when approaching random women for the first time. But I can tell you - from personal experience - that no amount of reading or getting advice is going to help you get over that. You'll get through it so much faster if you realize this and just get out there.
I suggest reading some Mystery and Juggler (Conversational Jujitsu). But yeah, don't saturate yourself with too much material. The important thing is getting out there and using what you do read. Best of luck.
