vocal tonality my sticking point

Postby Guest » Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:34 am

ok, so i have a somewhat loud booming voice. people really don't have problems hearing me, but when im in the SC or NC girls have to lean in to hear me. i was at the SC the other day and i noticed that my wing was having trouble hearing me over the music. so I decided to talk to another stripper while he was doing his thing and instead of hitting the right pitch, i involuntarily yelled at the stripper. but i passed her shit test so i was in the clear. if anyone has had vocal tonality issues, any advice would be extremely helpful.

You're going to have to play with it. Start low and work your way up. You'll eventually see a point where people hear you more...then practice speaking in that tone.

Is there any difference in tone when you talk to like your family vs. a co-worker or client?

Also, try talking a little slower. Your voice probably blends in with background noise easily, so giving people a little more time to process the parts they heard can improve your communication.

Style has some pretty good stuff on vocal tonality and voice projection. I know there is some stuff you can download off pirate bay about it. I think he calls it his annihilation series. Some of it is pretty good stuff.

I'm a pretty LOUD motherfucker. When I talk, I make it a point to speak loud enough so that everyone in my proximity can hear me. That's just how I roll.

But, when I'm at a loud club people still have to lean in because they're so loud. Next time you're at one, watch people talk. You'll notice that pretty much everyone is leaning in.

yeah, i agree on that observation but doesn't leaning convey neediness? generally i pull the girl into me and talk into her ear.

This is one of those out-dated game rules. It's ok to lean in (peck) a little at first, but eventually transition to where she has to to lean in by stealing her spot at the bar, firming up your body language as the interaction progresses stuff like that.
