I bought this book called "Why Women Have Sex". It's written by a couple of shrinks in Austin.
Excellent book, and no single man on the planet should go through life without reading it.
Just a couple of things in case you don't read this book that I think EVERYONE needs to realize:
1.) Scent. In a study of immunity, scientists figured out the 6th chromosome on the DNA strand is responsible for the immune system. If two people with very similar chromosomes mate, it's kinda like fucking your sister, and you get a bad immune system with the baby.
It turns out that women can actually smell this #6 chromosome. In a study, they had men wear cotton patches for 2 days to absorb their scent. Then, they had women smell the cotton patches and rate them as either attractive or unattractive. Of course, they also tested the participant's blood samples. As it turns out, women rated the men with opposite (compatible) genes as attractive, and men with very similar (incompatible) genes were rated unattractive. They also figured out that married couples with very similar gene patterns had very poor sex lives and the women had a high rate of infidelity.
2.) The cycle. This is fascinating shit, imo. Women enter the most fertile phase of their cycle about 2 weeks after the period. (I didn't even know that until just recently) At this time, women's sense of smell increases. Not only that, but the shrinks in Austin also figured out that fertile women also wear clothes that reveal more skin.
I seriously doubt that women consciously realize they are dressing sexier when they are at their fertile peak. I think this goes completely unrealized by women, but I'm about to start asking a few to see if they've ever thought about it.
I highly recommend this book. It's one of those things that, you know, if I'd have read this without first hand experiences to back up the writing, it would have just kind of bounced off. But because I can relate to real events and things I've witnessed first hand, it was really eye opening for me.
