A little help with NLP?

Postby Guest » Wed Feb 10, 2010 2:44 am

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around for a while, I've still been lurking though. Still hangin with the LTR, and her main stomping ground is Addisson, so no chance for a lair meet right now.

Anyways, while on this LTR hiatus from the community I decided I would brush up on the NLP aspects of the game. I'd like to improve my overall communication in general, and perhaps be able to control other aspects of my life as well as pick-up has helped me control my dating game.

So far I have been reading the e-book that came with the MM torrent, Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins. It's pretty good, but I'd like to step it up a notch.

What books are the best for learning NLP and more mind manipulation techniques?

Thanks guys.

You can check out another T-Ro book, Awaken the Giant Within. I have it sitting on my bookshelf in my 'to-read' pipeline but I haven't yet so I can't comment on the effectiveness of it over Unlimited Power. Also check out Frogs Into Princes -NLP.

I just downloaded one called Sleight of Mouth by Robert Dilts which is supposed to be one of the best. We'll see.

A book that I think is related to NLP but isn't really anything like NLP is called the Alexander Technique. It teaches taking unnecessary movements and such out of your subconscious habits. This attention to everything you do/say/feel helps with comprehension of NLP to keep it from being more of a creepy skill than acceptable skill. :)

Alexander Technique is great but you can't really learn it from a book. I took lessons from the only Alexander Technique instructor in Dallas at $70 a pop. Books are good supplemental material but they don't do it justice as opposed to actual instruction.

A great book I just found is called Beliefs - by Robert Dilts. It's focus is changing our core beliefs and it relies very heavily on NLP.
