I, for one, do believe in God. I do not, however, believe in the teachings of a book written by MEN.
There is no knee jerk reaction to what you posted, just straight up intellect. Let me begin using your written words to make a very simple point:

So, this means she's a slave? It certainly sounds that way. Listen, I believe in many cases women are not as good as men...an example would be physical prowess. On the other hand, women are much better than men in other areas...an example would be social dynamics. So, I read the above and I think to myself, why would someone (who is no doubt a man) write this passage? Simple. Socialization. You teach women early to be servants to men and guess what...that's what they become. But, is this fair? No. Absolutely not.
Actually, I could quote virtually every line you wrote here. Seriously, I could. If you sit here and actually believe that the Bible is not full of misogynistic thoughts, teachings, and beliefs then you're one of two things: 1) a liar or 2) ignorant.
Religion is important for Man. I will never say that it doesn't serve a purpose. But, when it teaches an entire population of Man to be subservant to another population of Man based exclusively on gender, then I will rally against those teachings and expose them what they are in truth...the social version of fois de gras, force feed them until they become plump enough for you to feast upon.

So, this means she's a slave?[/QUOTE]That's about as much of a stretch as Neuro's claiming religious oppression at this point... No ones being repressed, only challenged, and to say that a woman is a slave to man in this instance is just a plain erroneous.
I would say, let the faith talk be had, religion and beliefs are valid things to talk about with regard to pick up because many people who are in pick up may or may not have a religious affiliation. And as such the teachings of any given religion typically have talk or writings dealing explicitly with sex and what to look for in a mate.
Let's not forget though, the bible also tells what a mans job is. "Husbands, love your wife as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it . . . So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church . . . For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shal.1 be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh" Ephesians (something) and others...
I would also give an word of caution though, this is something that some countries have never been able to do: agreeing to disagree and live by the "fences make good neighbors" line. Religious talks are important in pick up, and need to be had without condemnation from others who disagree, because there very well could be a situation where pickup may seem to conflict in some way.
(Not to call you out Fenix) But Fenix as many already know is religious, and I know for a fact he had many questions regarding pick up and his faith. I would hate to deprive anyone of a place to talk about this, including Muslim, Christian, Jew, etc...

Some of you may know, and for those of you that don't, I'm a former seminary student. That means I was studying the Bible, and related thing at a Masters level. There was a time when I could mostly read the new testament, in it's original language, Greek. Lets say I know my stuff and leave it at that.
Bull Run, you disagree with both the authority, and inspiration of the Bible. That's fine. To completely discount the entire thing, and disregard the wisdom it contains, is also your choice. As far as the "written by men" quote, there are many numerous volumes on the subject, both pro and con, in regards to the issue, and that discussion is beyond the scope of this thread. (P.S. I'm purposely ignoring your ad hominem attack ;))
I personally do not subject myself the the authority of the Koran, or Bhagavad Gita, or think they were divinely inspired or written. However, in them are many wise things, and others who think differently than I do on the subject.
For the sake of argument, let's make a quick comparison of the qualities contained in the passage, and the opposite.
The ideal woman is, trustworthy, kind, hard working, knows how to find a deal, manages her house well, is a smart business woman, takes care of the people who work for her, is charitable, compassionate, generous, has a respected husband, strong, has dignity, wise, is not lazy, her children, and husband hold her in high regard, as does her community.
The opposite: cant be trusted, mean, lazy, pay too much for things, mismanages her house, is dumb in business, doesnt take care of the people who work for her, selfish, incompassionate, has a husband who is a bum, weak, undignified, unwise, lazy, her children and husband disrespect her, as does her community.
Which women would you rather have around?
