I wanted to add something FYI Lion.

NLP isn't really speaking slowly, as much as it is changing the subject at key times.

Another one to check out is "Completely cold" by Kenton Knepper. This book will highlight the base to NLP which is the other persons' thought process.

There are a few videos of Richand Bandler on the web that I found useful. If you really want to get into it, I'd recommend Structure of Magic over Frogs and Princes; the latter is a much lighter read though.

and no one has mentioned Ross Jeffries, Mr Speed Seduction himself. the father of the pick up community and the king of pick up based NLP. His stuff works and it's easy to learn. Lots of memorization though. He's been way out of favor for a long time now but he's definitely worth a look at. I always thought of his stuff as the catholic church of pick up. say 10 hail marys and a discovery channel pattern and you get a blow job.

I never put much credence on Jeffries' stuff because everything seemed so contrived and fake. I always felt like a used car salesman when I ran his routines. They do work, but it kind of takes the fun out of the pick up when you pretty much know what you're going to say before you even approach the girl.

Jeffries ruined me on NLP. He creeps me the F out...and from that 95% of NLP teachings and tactics kinda creep me out.

the subject line is NLP and to not mention RJ, the most prolific of the NLP PUA gurus would do a disservice to the question. For the record, he creeps me out too, but instruction and implementation are 2 different things. I also think that memorized patterns are annoying. I hate memorization. His later "Chaos magic" stuff is flat goofy though the underpinnings are pretty interesting.

I think that training yourself to talk naturally so you use NLP techniques is the way to go. Find his weasel phrases. He uses a lot of what if... and imagine... language that creates strong imagery peoples heads.

"There's all that stuff that society tries to tell you about how to live but I...[B]imagine you're mine[/B]... tells you something... [B]deep inside you[/B]... feels differently. Societal pressures always tell you 'this is the way to be' but the real you the one deep down... [B]prefers a nude erection, a different erection, this nude erection is what you really want deep inside.[/B]'

Just wrong, but funny and when done right, it works and no one notices it.
