We were created for LTR.
I totally and completely disagree with this idea. Humans were not created for LTRs. In truth, it goes against our biology...especially for men. Women do seek LTRs so she can have a stable person provide her with food, shelter, protection, and good genetic material.
Men, on the the other hand, as providers have virtually zero need to be with a woman. For us, it's more of a luxury than it is a requirement.
That's why our ancestors roamed in troops. Hillary's quote: "It takes a village to raise a child" is 100% accurate. Or, rather was. To get around a woman's need and a man's natural biology, the tribe would take over as the role of providing for the women and her offspring. Even today, chimps and gorillas routinely breast feed baby's from other mothers.
Over time, our intelligence developed faster than our biology and we began becoming aware of our existence outside of that of just doing what is necessary to survive. Critical thinking and rational reasoning was born and, in my opinion, from this came things like jealousy, greed, lust, etc. Women wanted to be provided for, but men didn't want their woman to produce any other man's offspring. From this was born the idea of monogomy and marriage.
Marriage was originally intended to be a control on women preventing them from being unfaithful. The irony is that the joke's on us now. Now, it's a self-made prision.
If people were truly meant to be in LTRs or married, then the divorce rate wouldn't be nearly as high as it is now. Infidelity wouldn't go on as much as it does now.
