Actually being sad and emo in the text would be a sign of weakness...saying it in the manner B R does is more playful than sad. I personally do the "makes me a sad panda" but I'm gay like that.

3) That makes me sad -- I stole that line from Pylon8, it's an amazing line to subcommunicate that you didn't like what she said. So, if you go sexual and she doesn't comply, just follow up with...that makes me sad. It will get you out of a lot more shit than you can ever imagine.

Can you explain more the rationale behind this. Admittedly I've never tried it, but I can see it backfriring in certain situations.
[/quote1248281944]

Can you provide a case in which you think it might backfire? I've used it in many, many different ways and situations and it has also worked incredibly well for me.

Hmmmmm.....maybe it's just that I've dealt recently with too many girls who like to have the upperhand in these sort of things for the sake of their ego, and a statement like "That makes me sad" might come off as very weak in the eyes of these kind of women. Maybe I'm just reading it too much as a sign of weakness?

Oh, Ok, I see where you're coming from...

Keep in mind that I've already set up the frame of fun, crazy guy so I'm allowed to say pretty much what I want. The use of the emoticon ":(" also helps to let her know that it's just a joke.

Also, remember, that I typically say 'that makes me sad' when she's not complying to MY demands. So, when I say it to her I'm already saying it from a position of strength:

Bull Run: I want you to find a girl for us to share :P
HB Unknown: *Says no in some way*
Bull Run: that makes me sad :(

Bull Run: I'm out of coco puffs...get over here and bring me some!!!
HB Unknown: *Says no in some way*
Bull Run: that makes me sad :(

Bull Run: I'm thirsty...let's go get an adult beverage tonite :P
HB Unknown: *Says no in some way*
Bull Run: that makes me sad :(

The first example was a strength, sexy frame: I made a demand, she shot me down, I told her that her response was unacceptable, and now, if she likes you, she'll WANT to make it up to you...which is virtually what always happens.

The second example is a good way to spark a fun conversation: funny demand which was clearly a joke, she said no, so I respond in an equally playful and ridiculous way, and now we're having a conversation.

The third example is another strength frame: make a demand, she doesn't comply, you communicate that it is not acceptable in a playful manner.

Finally, when you say something 'that makes me sad' a woman will almost always say something nurturing which helps to set even more of a frame that you are a man and she is a woman. You want something and it is her job to provide for her man. Set it up early that she needs to take care of you or fulfill your desires and she'll comply more than you would ever expect.

So, it's all about context and frames. If you don't have the right frame set, you're going to come off looking totally differently.

update:

to not come off as needy/desperate, i didnt text HB7 until Monday. I took a risk and texted her with something a little bit more fun/edgy, something i thought she would surely respond to!

Prodigy[4:42P] "You're my bitch!" haha :P

since she had said, "You're my bitch!" to me in our previous exchange, i figured she'd see it as a joke and respond positively. i was wrong; she didnt respond.

So I texted her again yesterday. This is how it went.

Prodigy[6:52P]: Hey! How’s it going...?
HB7[8:52]: Good! How r u? :)
Prodigy[9:27]: I’m fantastic! Just got of a hot shower after a nice workout. So just curious, why do you have a Houston number? [By mentioning that I had just gotten out of a hot shower, I wanted her to have a visual of my body, hence the related comment of working out. I know she’s attracted, so, by asking why she has a Houston number, I was trying build comfort.)
HB7[9:27]: I’ve had it since I was 15! I grew up in suth Houston
HB7[9:28]: south (does her correcting her spelling immediately say that she is paying close attention to what she writes?)
Prodigy[9:29]: Makes sense. Janay from Houston , hmm, are you sure youre not black? Haha :P
HB7[9:31]: Ha. I look so black!
Prodigy[9:33]: Yea, it’s the blonde hair! Which city do you like better? Houston or DFW?
HB7[9:38]: Oh I don’t like Htown, but im from like an hour shouth anyway. The country! Where r u from?
Prodigy[9:42]: I was born and raised in California , orange county to be exact! Moved here after high school :( (I think that living in CA is a DHV and usually builds interest.)
HB7[9:50]: Oh, u mis it there?
HB7[9:51]: miss
Prodigy[9:57]: Yea, I love the beach and miss my friends! But Texas is alright, I’ve gotten used to it. So what are your plans for this weekend?
HB7[10:22]: Not sure about this weekend yet. You?
Prodigy[10:35]: Well now you do, were gonna hang out! :) maybe dinner and drinks, but since youre such an alcoholic, we can skip dinner...lol haha jk
HB7[10:56]: My bff is coming into town this weekend at some point, so we’ll have to keep in touch. If she does, dinner might be out, but we could meet u up somewhere for drinks :)...and im not an alcoholic! Ha

Personally, I feel like the conversation was kind of boring and superficial. since i know shes attracted, my goal is to build comfort and i hope i can do this if we meet up this weekend....

I’m open to any and all critique...

Thanks!

Prodigy:

This is a good, but very vanilla, text volley. Since you, even acknowledged by you, did not build the sexual tension when you first met her THIS exchange went exactly the way it should have gone.

Fact is that she's still feeling you out. So, let her continue to do so. The goal for you is to get her in PERSON again so that you can actually build comfort. You won't do that via texts, BUT you can do that through phone calls (which is why I think women really prefer texts, it prevents them from being seduced via an electronic medium).

Just be fun and available for continued conversations. Since she's got plans this weekend and might hit you up in a spontaneous manner (i.e. it's Saturday night at 9pm). DON'T try to DHV by saying you have plans to do this or that...instead, DHV by saying that you don't have plans but you don't need them because you'll find something fun and awesome to do. This keeps you flexible and available for HER while still allowing you to have a LIFE.

As for critique, I don't really have any but to say that if a girl responds to her own texts and corrects her spelling it tells me a few things:

1) Most likely, she does want to impress you
2) She's anal...and not in the backdoor sort of way...so, be sure to calibrate to her the way you would to some that is detail oriented

The reason she didn't respond to your first text was because you haven't given her anything to bite on and respond to...it was an inside joke that you shared with her and required no response. As such, she didn't respond. But, I think that small text was a BIG deal to her. Sometimes, you have got to find ways to reassure them and reinforce them that you ARE interested in them. Is it AFC? Yep. But, sometimes you have to go AFC if you want to close. There is nothing wrong with that at all...the difference is to understand when to go AFC and when to be alpha.

The long and short is that you have her on the hook, stick around in a spontaneous, non-needy way and you'll reel her in...
