I think there are 2 schools of thought here.
In one corner you have Bull Run, who can accurately be described as a person in which can more readily identify with society and the ideals it usually encompasses.
In the other corner you have Afterlife. A person who doesn't follow a standard path, and doesn't really care for "norms".
Just as not many people can validate my pulls, I cannot validate Bull Run's or Afterlife's. Bull Run, you once told me that some of the best PUA's pull best when they are flying solo, and I couldn't agree more.
Afterlife to me, has the qualities that any good PUA would have. The only difference is his school of thought. I myself have a hard time with societal "norms" which is why alot of times my opinions, or my "whines" often fall on def ears, or most importantly are portrayed exactly as that, me whining.
Afterlife makes no claim that he wishes the world to be different, unlike me. But like me he also blazes his own trail. Sometimes people come along.
Bull Run, unlike me, you are very successful in societal norms. People gravitate to you like none I've seen in the community in some time. Like me you have a deeper understanding about what all societal norms entails, and like you once said, a lot of the times you speak to extremes.
It's easy to come to a boiling point as "It's my way or the highway" but it's a dangerous line to toe when saying that a person should conform.
I have not followed up with Afterlife for almost a year, but last time I hung out with him he literally owned the venue he was in, and I saw people, for lack of a better way to say it, virtually begging him to spend time with them (when he wasn't even dressed ridiculous). Men and Women alike, therefore I have no doubt that his "escapades" are real.
The problem, I feel, lies in the fact that what Afterlife does, and considers normal, is not what society does, nor is considered normal and thus many, have problems with his stories.
Granted I feel he could have gone into detail in his reports, and that some of his definitions may be a little too tailored to himself for my tastes, I do feel Afterlife is one of the rare talented individuals of this lair.
Like I said, I feel there are two different thought patterns here, where being a PUA entails becoming more of a part of the society we are in and becoming a more "productive part of society", and the other which is basically doing your own thing, be damned, and not really conforming to any given rational.
There is nothing inherently wrong with either, but they are on totally different sides of the spectrum.
