Progress is golden.
Tonight I got dragged over to my typical haunt, T.G.I.Fridays, by my good buddy and one of my several workout partners. I was about to walk into the gym when he called and told me to swing by to meet him and his girl for a few drinks, I decided to postpone my lifting until after a couple of beers because I had been inside all day finishing reading "The Game" and starting "How to become an Alpha Male" by John Alexander. So I get there and the bartender, who is an old friend of mine, suggests I talk to this girl at the bar who is one of her good friends. After hanging out for a while talking with my friends they finally leave and I saddle up to a barstool next to her and start talking.
She is an easy 8 and I am feeling a bit apprehensive about talking to her but figure wth I need the practice and whats the worst that can happen. I wasn't really dressed to impress having been on my way to the gym. I didn't use any openers or routines, mostly because I really dont know any by heart yet, but just start casually talking. My friend the bartender really helped a lot in introducing us once I got in position next to her, turns out she is a personal trainer at a gym and very into running which lines up perfectly for me because talking fitness is one of my strong points. Anyhow She tells me that she is running a half marathon in november and so I ask her what kind of weekly mileage and training she is doing to prep herself. anyhow after a lot of talk about her training and life goals I told her I had to boogie off and make it to the gym but asked for her number so we could run together sometime. I got her number.
It felt great to be able to do that, something I normally would not have done but I felt confident from my all day read-a-thon.
