Town East aka GhettoEast Mall in Mesquite has a lot of clubwear and accessories.

When I was on crutches I got opened all the time! The crutches acted as an instant conversation starter. Girls were curious about what happened and always impressed that I was out and about. I always told them I ended up on crutches because I fell out of my sex swing. ;-) Not sure how faking the whole crutches thing would go but its worth a shot. Just have some good bs story ready

Heres a pic of me wearing this strippers feather skirt on my head as an indian head dress! This was $$$$. Introduced myself as Chief Party Party.

I once walked into a bar with a stuffed Clifford dog under my arm.

A girl from across the bar fingered me over and asked me about the dog. Something that her friend later told me that she NEVER does.

The key is to have something to say once they open you about the object. Me, I acted as if it was 100% normal to have a stuffed Clifford dog. Then, I told her how hard it was to get him in...he doesn't have an ID you know. And, then I asked the bartender for a bowl of water (which they never gave me).

Peacocking is cash money. You just have to act as if what you're wearing is normal.

Cedar springs and throckmorton. 3 shops there with cool stuff. Fair warning: you will be the only straight guy for about a 2 mile radius.

I mostly only do very subtle peacocks, but I ALWAYS get opened when I wear my fedora.
(No exaggeration here, there has yet to have been an exception.)

I think the consensus here is that subtle peacocking is the way to go now. the days of fuzzy top hats and pink feather boas have come and gone, are quite honestly too gimmicky to be that worthwhile, and about a socially awkward as a sex offender sign in your front yard.

bright colors, accessorizing (think flare), and just being different than the majority (see Bull Runs post on sticking out) and you'll shine out in the field!

Peacocking will get you noticed, but keep in mind, it's not so much the peacocking per se that builds the attraction.

It will get you opened, and possibly some social pressure from dudes as well.

But what builds the attraction and why it 'works' is if you can pull it off congruently and confidently. It's the balls to go a little outside the lines, and the confidence to pull it off, that the woman is finding attractive. So make sure you can, else you hurt yourself more than not doing it.

nice topdog well put. peacocking is confidence proof prior to opening your mouth. fedoras, glasses, and scarfs (including using the scarf as a turban) all have worked well for me in different scenes. for me, it really is just accessorizing properly w/ personal flare and not being hesitant to put yourself out there; as is required in all our strategery.
