Noobs...

Open PUA discussion

Postby Guest » Sun Jan 25, 2009 8:34 pm

From a noob perspective, I have read this site for a little bit so I probably fall into the discussed catagory. One reason( for me anyways ) is that anyone can claim to be a baddass PUA on the internet but I dont know if that is true. So, I read and when I sense a personality that I can relate to the communication opens up a bit. I am currently meeting up with one of you this weekend (if he wants to chime in thats up to him) and have texted back and forth because he seemed to be in the frame of someone helpfull. Everytime I read cocky, arrogant, look at me type of shit I skip right over all of that persons posts. Every big name PUA i have seen on youtube etc.... Never bags on the newbies but truly come across as wanting to help.....Some people on here IMO do not come across this way even though they may intend to.

Who cares what happens to them. But BR, Ive been a member since dallas pua days. and then when Meetup was happening. you never reached out to me or anyone I knew. And look @ me Im a shining star ;) so in reality, if you want to meet more newbies, why dont you message them? In the last few months I have met a number of these newbies and given them a reason to stick around. Yea yea, my dick really is that big! Skepsis, just/us, sweetpure, prodigy, Alcy, slick_85, are the first ones to come to mind. Now thats 6 ppl. If you want the forum to grow, then i think everybody that has a reputation should bring in 5 people also.

or keep in mind that this is a board. meant for networking. not necessarily judging and casting stones.

Well BR does reach out once you approach him ;)...his reply to my PM was huge...and had some real good stuff in it....the cool guys I've met so far and I think do make an honest effort to help the noobs are
-Smirks
-Ratio
-Matrix
-BullRun
-Captain Caveman

Ive only been to 2 meets so there are obviously more...but Ive noticed that the others are usually doing their own thing (which is perfectly fine)....but from a newbie point of view I feel more comfortable approaching the above mentioned guys for pointers....but that just me...

I never said one should reach out. All I said was that everyone should be active. That's all I ask. I don't reach out because I want to learn on my own. If that's your style, so be it. At least that's how you learn, at least you're doing something.

This was the point of the post. I want everyone to DO something. Period, end of story.

I didn't reach out to you. Big deal. I didn't feel like you could teach me anything I couldn't learn on my own. Call me strong, call me stubborn, call me enlightened, call me unique. Whatev.

Not casting stones. Just asking why? Why isnt' everyone 100% active.

Lion's post was the best of the bunch. Re-read it. I respect it. He's right. But, I have a lot of fight in me. I want everyone to be as active as I have been. I understand that I'm not like everyone else. But, I truly believe that if I could do it...so can anyone.

So, here's my stone. I'm going to cast it...DO something guys. Don't just read, change your life. Judge me for caring about random people. If I'm going to be judged, at least its for the right reasons.

Whenever I did ask for help I did receive it. Finesse, Bull Run, Lion, Vector, Professor, all of those guys helped at some point in time while I lived in Dallas area. Bull Run is right-ACTION IS KEY TO EVERYTHING! Any Community instructor will tell you that. In fact that became one of Community's Pillars so to speak, whether it is Mystery and Matador teaching or RSD. Everybody in the community says that only ACTION will get you results. I live in San Antonio and the lair here is pretty much dead. Out of 70 something people I am the only one going out consistently( at least as far as I know). It is sad and pathetic.I think that the "elders" on this forum are just trying to prevent that from happening to Dallas area.

As far as negative and whiny posts go, yeah I am sick of them too. Guys in Dallas have access to such an amazing tool and such motivating people that it kills me when they do not take advantage of it. Man I wish San Antonio had a lair as professional as this one.

I do not have time for lazy and negative people. We are all here for the same reason- to imrove ourselves. Lets keep our focus on that instead of showing off.

I only met Solace once at his seminar before I became inactive. I'm giving you an impartial view of solace. I saw this guy teaching and reaching out to newbies. I clearly saw his eagerness and passion to help out newbies and any other experienced PUAs. Not only that, he was very modest and approachable by anyone. I actually never seen anyone like this guy in any lairs. There are many PUAs self claim to done this and done that. I have seen many new guys comment on Solace's skills and what he did. Those guys were the proof that Solace was creditable and wasn't all just talk. That can only happen when you are as good as you claim. That is why I have lots respect for this guy.

If there are more guys like Solace, I think we can achieve healthier community for all. Especially, new guys will benefit the most.

Warning: By any means, I am not advertising Solace nor his classes. It is just my unbiased view of solace from what I have seen.

BullRun (and others),

I am guilty as charged.... Showed up at one meet, got some good tips, and have been on the receiving end of this flow of information, and posted only a few messages so far - probably not useful to anyone.

I could give you a number of excuses as to why I was not more involved, and believe me, they all are valid. But, if I've learned anything about this stuff so far, it is "not to be a pussy". So, I don't think being apologetic about why I act the way I act is a personality trait of the alpha male I've set to become. So, I'm going to have to respectfully say :

Get over it dude...

There are reasons why the phrase"doing my own thing" applies more and more each day. Enjoy the drama guys. I have a drama free policy. It's not worth raising my blood pressure.
There are reasons why I'm sarging as much as ever, but have very little to do with the board these days.
Enjoy!

In the grand scheme of things, I see a small percentage of the male population having PUA potential. The traits that make up a successful PUA are also the same traits found in the personalities that really embrace this forum.........or "take the bull by the horns" if you will! ;-)

In anything, you have different people that participate on various levels. This is no different. Everyone has different expectations and abilities. Although I kind of side on BullRuns side of the fence, its important to encompass all types of members.

I'm on another forum where we discuss technical topics in regards to the type of cars I race and we've got so many "advanced" people on there and not enough "noobs" that it kind of gets a little boring and there isn't as many topics that get brought up for discussion. Just something to think about.

One thing that doesn't make a great impression is the bickering back and forth.
