True, most men are happy with settling for the first hot thing that comes along. But, not the guys in the PUA movement. And, not the guys WORTH having.

As far as lists are concerned, I don't put any credence in the them whatsoever. I can't tell you how many women I've dated that said they never would have thought they would date someone like me. I simply didn't fit in the laundry list of their wants and desires. People say they know what they want, but they really have no idea. The reason has to do with how we process information. We have two 'levels' of thinking. Higher functions and lower functions. Higher function would be our analytical brain. Lower function would be our more animalistic brain. Studies have shown that the two don't really agree on what is and is not attractive. You think you want something, but when it's presented to you you don't necessarily want it any longer.

Case in point is a study I once read (I've mentioned this before and I still can't find the damn study). A speed dating session was set up and attendees were recruited. Before the session, everyone had to fill out the things they 'thought' they wanted in a man or woman. The researchers then planted in a man and a woman that were considered to be uber attractive (they generally possessed universally attractive traits and were rated the most attractive by the researchers based on several physical and personality traits). Then the event was held. After the event, the attendees were once again asked to fill out what they wanted in a man or woman, and a list of the three people they were attracted to in order of preference. Obviously, the plants landed on virtually everyone's list and even more curious, everyone's list of preferred traits changed. For the people that chose the plants, their description of what traits they found attractive changed to a almost near match description of the personality and physical traits possessed by the plants. In other words, it appears that our analytical minds don't really know what we're attracted to until our lower minds 'see' them.

People don't know what they want.

Now, I do think women are pickier than men because the stakes are much, much higher. A man can fuck anyone and not have any long-term repercussions from doing so, save for STDs. A woman on the other hand might get pregnant, which would change their life forever. Further, she wants to try to get the best traits from him as possible. Although, I would contend that a man wants the same...read The Selfish Gene and you'll get a better understanding that men want the best genes from a woman just as women want the best genes from a man. So, women need to be a little more selective because there's literally another life a stake.

This should be an overwhelming goal for all PUAs.

Are you going to get bent out of shape over women, or are you going to do what you want to do? I want to meet skanky, hippy chicks while I'm in Austin. So lately I've been opening with "hi, I'm new here...I really like how in Austin, people working in the service industry look almost happy...like they might not kill themselves or their managers in a few hours..." I straight don't give a fuck anymore. The women I want to be around would respond well to this, even if they see through it. If they don't, well "GTFO because I'm about to do substantially better." I'm totally genuine with girls now, and starting to feel free for the first time ever.

Great point you make here. It took me almost a year of continually working at it but I finally got there. The better I got, the higher quality and better looking women I surrounded myself with........and all of the sudden I find my self lacking the time to "harvest" all those honey's! I'm not saying this to brag, I'm just re-emphasizing BR's point so hopefully it might inspire others that are at a different point in the game.
