Pick Up is way, way too complicated. It really is as simple as not putting women on a pedestal, being your own person all the time, not apologizing for who you are, being PRESENTABLE, and simply talking to people.

Perhaps you should try using Sponge Bob and Santa as content in your conversations. Like BR said, everyone makes this stuff too complicated. 90% of the time, I use childish humor with girls. It's stupid, but it makes her laugh, and drops barriers...plus...it's totally easier to talk to a girl about your favorite coloring book as a kid than it is to talk to her about the differences between matter and anti-matter.
