I think Tribululs has a good point and being around a lot of awkward guys definitely hurts. But it's also good to have support and share experiences in person. I think it's good for broadening your horizons as to what can work for some people. A girl once said BR was "pathetic" which I found fascinating because I would never have expected that, and I was really curious why she would say it. That kind of thing is very educational and a lot of insight can be gained.
And I would emphasize, that kind of insight is exceedingly hard to get through online discussion, which is why I so strongly emphasize the importance of meeting people in field. Which, to get back to the topic of this thread, relates to how closely tied the various local lairs are, or should be.
I am glad that we have friendships with the OK folks, but the question of a mega-lair with "chapters" in the various cities I think takes away from the personal nature of it.
So my next question would be, if one lair is affiliated or in some sense "friends" with another lair, what does that ultimately mean? How is it different from some individuals from one being friends with individuals from the other? Would an unknown person from OK (or Austin or Texarkana anywhere else) be considered differently from an unknown person from Dallas, because of their membership in a lair there?
