First I'll say that I will never regret going to college. I've had (and continue to have) one hell of a time outside of class (life in college is just so much damn fun).
I can also say that, despite what some of you mentioned, I really have actually learned alot of good material in college (I'm talking outside of the 'how-the-world-works' category).
There's alot of stuff that I've even used at my job now...and some stuff that I just found interesting and has affected the ways I view things and people who have accomplished things (or taken credit for them).
The problem really lies in the fact that I've already come to the conclusion that reflects exactly what everyone has already said: Experience is what really matters, alot of college is just a formality for success, finishing up is a means to an end.
I'm just annoyed by the fact that the only real purpose to finishing all of this work is to show that I've gained something....when in reality, I don't think there's really all that much left for me to actually gain between now and May when I grad (considering the majority of what I have left to do).
It'd be nice if I could sit down with one of the advisors, show them the listing of what I have left to do, look them in the face and say "Really? Like really? You're really gunna make me do this crap given what I've already done? Come on, man, just sign me off....". Maybe that's a little egotistical...but its the truth.
Having worked where I have for the past 3 years, and having already had quite a bit of success there, I know that I'm pretty far ahead of most of my peers in school in terms of experience. I've already had many situations where I'll be doing something for school and wondering how many of my peers actually believe this is how things work in the real world.
I'm sitting here looking at the listing of classes that I have left to take...and its not too encouraging. I've left myself with the simpleton classes that I always put off because I've just felt that they're just so unnecessary.
Oh well, I'll stick it out. I know I'm not the first go through all this.....and you can all expect one insane grad party come May.
