I have a lot of friends who are girls. When one is feeling particularly vulnerable / horny / crazy, they will often tell their girlfriends to not let them do anything stupid. Their friends then spend the rest of the evening watching over her. This happens pretty often actually...

The only realy ways to overcome this are to 1) win over her friends, 2) not be a "random" guy through building rapport with the girl throughout the night.

I normally do this through lots of physical take aways where I actually leave the girl several times throughout the night and return.

This can also happen if you have high social value in the venue. Introduce your target and her friends to everyone that comes up and greets you. It quickly takes away the random factor.

Also, the often overlooked skill of merging groups will remove any random guy stigma. Her and her friends will quickly forget they don't know you if you are merging their group into other groups.

One other perspective... often time a girl's friends are sick and tired of hearing about her being lonely, can't get a good guy, etc. Girls talk about stuff like this a lot more than guys do. If you show enough value and can break through the "random guy" stigma, I have often had a girl's friends help me with her. They want to see her happy and if I am I guy they think might cheer a lonely girl up, they will go out of their way to make sure it happens.

I hate the word "obstacle" that made it into the PUA lexicon. Obstacles are nothing more than a girl's friends who are looking out for her best interest. If you start dating this girl, the "obstacles" will become your friends too.
