Ok, so here's what I've learned from online game:
1) In general, I feel like the quality of the girls online are lower than that if you were to meet them in person. A lot of chicks have a profile for no other reason than to make themselves feel better...you know positive reinforcement.
2) Pics are definitely deceiving. Generally, people post only the best pics of themselves online. Makes sense right? My criteria for determining if she is really hot or if it's just a flattering pic is as follows:
a) A shit ton of pics, I mean at least a dozen (all girls, that are cool and social should have a bunch of pics to post). This does a couple of things, first it subcommunicates that she's somewhat normal (girls love pics), it gives you a bunch of different opportunities to cross-reference her hottness.
b) I look for a handful of pics of her with her friends. Subcommunicates that she's got some level of a social life, also ugs tend to hang with ugs, fats tend to hang with fats, hotties tend to hang with hotties. If her friends are all 6s and she appears to be an 8/9 then chances are that she's really just a 6. I've found though that the opposite doesn't hold true, no idea why.
c) At least one close up and one body shot.
d) At least one pic of her in a casual situation as well as a dressy situation.
e) Finally, I always take the worst picture and determine what she looks like from there. Chances are that this is what she REALLY looks like, if not it's a nice surprise ;)
3) There are at least three different broad categories of online places to meet someone:
a) Social Networking Sites (ie MySpace, Friendbook, various chat rooms) -- These are generally very, very cold approaches and the name of the game is numbers. On places like MySpace you shouldn't write much of anything about yourself, just have pics of yourself and the things you like, as well as cool songs and videos. Let the profile tell the story without them being forced to read. I typically use low investment openers to get the conversation started. I call these Drive By Openers...you drop a 2 sentence e-mail and then move on to the next profile. The girls from these places tend to be the same type of girl you meet in a bar/club...whores looking to have fun.
b) Free Dating Sites -- I've found that I'm most successful with a MySpace like opener, i.e. Drive By Opener. The chicks on here tend to call you out on canned shit so be prepared for that. If they do call you out, chances are you're done so push the envelope...you don't have much to lose. I've only met a handful of girls from these sources, so it's hard to say what they're really like. But my impression is that a lot of these girls are just there for positive reinforcement. I haven't been very impressed with the quality of girls here.
c) Pay sites. In my opinion, girls here are looking for a relationship of some type. I'm not saying that you can't fuck them on the first date, because I have many times. Even before I've been in the Game I was able to close them on the first date, the difference between now and then was it took at least 2-3 long as phone conversations to build the comfort necessary to close her. Now it's just sort of a few e-mails, a couple of texts, one date, and then a lay. I usually hit up a pay site once every few months, otherwise it gets stale. The WORST offender for LTR seeking girls is...eHarmony. The WORST!!!
4) Rarely, if ever, do I call them on the phone. I've only had one flake on me. Calling on the phone just seems to put you in the potential boyfriend zone and I try to avoid that at all costs with people I've never met.
There's a shit ton more to online Game than the above, I just thought I'd spill out my thoughts given the thread.
Hopefully I didn't highjack your thread Justice.
Anyway, I don't really run much online Game any longer because the quality generally sucks. But, if I want to stack a week or weekend with dates just for the hell of it to practice then I'll troll around on the net for a week or so.
