The Ranking (wbafc, bafc, afc... PUA, etc) under your handle

Got something to say?

Postby Neuromancer » Mon Apr 09, 2007 2:31 am

I think the high post count for the top levels is a good idea. If you have that many it means you have been at it a LONG time and are still in the community. on of the big things i see happening in the community is PUAs get good, find their dream girl and then settle down and leave the community. While I don't have a problem with that, I think that we could use that level of expertise in the community so if they get good enought to have that many posts and are still in the community it means something.

or not.

Unless you are just a keyboard jockey.....Maybe the ranking should be an honor system based on LR's???

True, experience is great, but Mojo has been at this since January of '06 and hasn't hit the 500 mark yet. At this rate, it really would take 10+ years. Then again, PUG and PUM are pretty lofty titles, so maybe that's for the better.

Twitchy's idea seems cool too, though I don't know who would have the time to manage something like that. Maybe PUG/PUM titles could just be reserved for proven PUAs, and others could apply for "promotions" if they felt worthy of advancing beyond wbAFC, bAFC, etc.

But not to bitch, it's also fine how it is.

Also could be based on what other users give to you depending on the quality of your post.

never liked user CP. most people don't even know it exists. and of those that do, most people don't give it out.

As for console jockeys, I have yet to see one that could last 5000 posts worth. They usually get bored with being a know-it-all on the subject and move on to another forum so they can be a know-it-all on a new subject. Besides, it's a board rank and doesn't matter in the field anyway. You become PUG because PUAs in the community say you are.

I don't put much merit into anyone's rankings, whether it be PUA status, hotness of a HB, etc. If you find a female attractive and you can successfully have her feeling attraction for you, then you win - no matter if anyone else in the community finds her hot or not.

Sexiness to me is much more important that physcial beauty any day.

However, regarding the ranking on this board, it can be misleading. I have seen PUAs who have been in the community for years and still have their v-card or rarely succeed in picking up. They know every opener, every line, NLP, palm reading, etc. and yet still can't get a girl.

There is no magic formula of saying and doing X, Y and then Z which wins you a successful seduction. It comes from confidence, knowing the stages of seduction and how to navigate them, and logistics. Everything else is just fluff.

The last true fresh PU I did (in which I didn't know the girl) I accomplished with a friendly smile followed by a mischevious grin and a head jerk indicating I wanted her to come over and talk to me. She crawled over 3 over her friends in a booth to come say hi. I was kissing her and got her phone number 30 minutes later.

PU doesn't require lines, routines, or NLP. Those are merely tools you can rely upon to help boost your confidence in approaching women and getting them attracted to you.

So what am I saying? If you have more more than a few hundred posts, you better have seen a lot of growth in your field work. Otherwise, you are wasting precious moments of your life. Consider the 80/20 rule.... 20% of this stuff will get you 80% of your success. Learn 3 or 4 openers, learn the MM stages because they are invaluable, implement cocky and funny, dress well, have good hygiene, clean up your house and go sarge. You will progress a lot more just practicing out in the field than memorizing anything you read on any PUA board.

If anyone is competing with themselves or others to increase their ranking on this board by posting, then reconsider your goals. If the rankings were tied somehow to success in the field (number closes, day2s, LRs, etc.), then I think they would mean something. Even if they were tied to FRs instead of just a generic post they would have some meaning as that would show a PUA is active. As they stand now, I just consider them something fun and don't even pay attention to them.

And now, taking my own advice, I am signing off to take a HB out to dinner. Ciao!

Hey fellas,

The ranking system should not be taken as an indicator of one's skill. Rather as an indicator of how active a member is. I am open to any other suggestions to make it less confusing - maybe a change in the name's rank (something other than wbafc.. afc.. gpua..) or adding a notice clearifing that the ranks do not indicate actual skill level.

Very true. Though do not let this discourage any of you! You can know the outter game, though without inner game you can never get good. Confidence is key!...

Confidence! Women can smell confidence from across the room.

maybe an adjustment

Postby El Fenix » Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:37 am

Maybe there should be an adjustment for the top 2 levels.....5000 and 10000 do seem a bit excessive. I dont know if anyone on any board anywhere has THAT many posts. I heard, maybe somone can confirm, that Mystery's archives are somewhere near 5000 posts.

Besides, after going out with someone in the field only a few times, you can figure out where they are in their game anyways. The real dudes get their proper credit, and the key jockeys are outed.
There could be a way to make sure the right guys, who are good in field, get the recognition.
