I've been on the online dating websites for about 6months now and have experienced decent success. But I'm still not really satisfied with what it has to offer. The HB6-7's are no problem. It's those hotties that get 50 emails a day that I'm after. It seems like there are 100guys to 1hot girl. I think I've done a good job studying on how to go after that type of target. Its almost like those girls are easier to snag in the field than online????? Maybe that online stuff is a waste of time??? I am very selective so that plays into it as well.
Whats your guys' take on the online dating stuff?

One of my girlfriends (FB's) told me this weekend that she was hit on by a guy in a coffee shop. He wasn't a player, because he ordered a drink for her and had it sent over. She said that was SO HOT. Anyway, I started interviewing her for details and basically, she said he hadn't been drinking. She thinks it's way hot if a guy can hit on a woman without alcohol.
So, basically, the way I've got it figured, women are attracted to a confident man who has the stones to make a cold approach and hit on them without alcohol. They're less attracted to a man who hits on them with alcohol as a crutch.
It stands to reason they've got to be WAY LESS attracted to a guy who has to use the internet to find a date.

The net has a certain demographic of women that you simply won't find out.
I agree that hitting on a girl without alcohol is a huge turn on to most women. However, if you're in a bar setting and not drinking, just a little, it's a little creepy.
Anyway, the girls on the net are totally different (usually) than the ones you meet in person. They aren't social rejects or pathetic or anything like that, for the most part that is. Instead, they're a little more serious about things. They're a little more motivated by relationships than fun. So, it's a different ball game. Interestingly enough, I've found that people are more superficial on the net than in person. It makes sense, I mean you can hedge against having a shitty job or not being that attractive in a bar by being fun and different and charming and whatever...you don't really get the same opportunity via the net.
Anyway, I regularly pull 1 to 2 chicks a week from the net. They rarely turn into anything serious, not even FBs. And, if you do it right, you will f-close a chick from the net on the first date.

My take is that desperate girls go online for a date, hot girls go online for validation. Most of those HB6-7 are online because they think they're worthless unless they have a man in their life, and they will fuck you on the first date because that's how they think they land a man. These girls will often tell you that they love you the second time you fuck them (it's so awkward when they say that DURING sex). For a PUA, this is how you land a stalker.
IMO, hot girls go online to get validation from men they have no intention of meeting. They will keep their eyes peeled for a sugar daddy, however.

i disagree with some of these posts... I would say this was the OLD stigma around internet dating from years ago.
There are a lot of attractive professional women online which is demographic i'm going for personally.... I don't [i]have to[/i] use the internet to find a date, i have no problem picking up girls in person. Life is too hectic nowadays. It's perfect for both men and women to always have that other hook in the water. I've gone out with HB10s, a bunch of HB8's and had a serious LTR actually with one I met. She certainly wasn't desperate, any more than i was for being on there.
Here's my observations:
1) The free sites suck. You get what you pay for...ie. plentyoffish is horrible.
2) Do a pay site. Match.com has many attractive quality women. Your $25 is a fraction of a bar tab on a single night out.
3) They do tend to have more of the HB7-8 for sure, sporadic 9 and 10's on there as well

I have a friend that used to be pretty good at picking up women in bars. He has slept with over 100 women. One day I guess he got tired of the women he met at bars and started online dating. he dated several women briefly then met one.........moved in with her a few months later and ended up marrying her.
I never really asked him about it, but I think maybe he concluded that bars weren't the best place to meet a future wife and I guess he was ready for a serious relationship.

i use online means to find dates a lot, ususally if im traeling to a new city i will start setting up dates online for when i get there and then use in-field once im there. I use only Facebook and Myspace though and the selection of girls on these especially Facebook is extremely broad, since they arent really dating networks
