Problem I have cooking for women...

Hey guys

I've been doing a little cooking for girls lately--using this one recipie--it's supposed to be awesome, but the girls keep complaining that the meal isn't nearly as good as it's made out to be and just doesn't satisfy them *at all*... I was wondeirng if any of you might know some recipies that would be more exciting and fun to cook for a woman instead of the bland and overrated meal I've been making them

it's all bout how you season them and what sauce you use.
for example, if u r cookin steaks, the way you cook it makes big difference. if you just microwave that piece of meat, it will taste worse than mcdonalds meats. Oven might be better than microwave... but still don't use oven for steaks. If you cook it on pan, it will be good, but not nearly as good if you cooked it on the grill. You must know how much fire power you need. This is also big factor. Obviously, ask what they like. medium? rare? overcooked? oh and tenderizing the steak is very important before you cook 'em. I have my own way to do my steaks and everyone loves it. I use little bit of coke to season etc and i like to tenderize it by making it thiner and such. I like to use thick steak sauce instead of liquidity ones. thick ones add more flavor and tastier. errr and that's all i can think of at the moment.

oh and you don't really need all that fancy recipe to make your steaks taste good.

Good points Sleek, but for some reason, whenever I use that recipie all the girls complain that the meat is too small and just fails to satisfy the ladies...

Is the meal ready to eat when she walks in?
Or are you guys doing the cooking together?

There are some really good home style chinese cooking I can do... but my best is my shrimp Feticui Alfedo with spinach (cooked in olive oil with fresh roasted garlic). Bread... I would buy the frozen Texas Toast from Walmat and bake it in the oven.

Any Seafood that you would buy... buy it from an Asian Supermarket.
They have the best price and the freshes product... it comes from the same supplier and they sell alot more than the regular supermarket.

ready when she gets there? wth? she better help me cook. That steak recipe is weird and looks pain in the ass.

The meal can be average and she can still think you're a great cook if you can pull off a good dessert. Concentrate on the dessert if you want to really top it off. It doesn't have to be elaborate either. Anything simple, with chocolate, that's made from scratch should do the trick. I've found that making her bring the wine or champagne to have with dessert seems to work well too. She has a vested interest in the meal and feels as if she's contributed some and it gives her and excuse to drink. :) however this suggestion only works if she 's old enough to buy the alcohol herself. ha ha sorry Westfall i couldn't resist.

I think the problem actually lies in your attempt to emulate this Picture Perfect steak. When one knows what to do with it, this meal tends to be a success. This information in the hands of an amateur...griller...would probably disappoint, creep out, and/or run off women.

I suggest you start out with pop-tarts and eggo's...then work your way up to the big boy meals.

Well too the recipe states it's "picture" perfect. I for one have not tried this recipe so I can't speak for the flavor but the ingredients all seem sufficient for a normal steak but somewhat subtle. If you think she's a connoisseur of steaks then this may work well but I for one prefer a richly flavored steak. Something marinated or made with a strong crushed pepper or montreal seasoning. Just a suggestion.
