Field Report

Went to Primo's last night(tuesday) at about 7:15. The hot hours there seem to be from 5-7, and 8 till 11 on Tuesdays. Dave opened the first 2 set, and we talked to them for about 45 minutes. One was a shorter thicker girl, who was really nice. Her friend may have been on something, I dont think I've seen some one as ADHD as that in a long time. The tall girl kept switching back and forth to this huge AFC guy who bought them and us drinks. Got him nowhere. Eventually I ran a block on the AFC guy, by getting in the place of the tall girl, and moving her away from him. Wish I thought of it sooner. Told them we were disposable lighter repairmen, when got a crap test on what we did for work. Later I told them Dave and I sold ocean front property in Arizona. Number closed the short girl.(my first sarge number close!) IO tried to run the best friends test, but it didnt go all that well due to the statterbrained tall girl. We were getting so many IOI's when talking to those girls, it was funny. "accidental" brushes, eye contact, I couldnt believe the social proof we got from just those 2 girls.
We were going to leave, and on the way out were getting IOI's, and left for a few, and came back in. The second 2 set I opened (my first sarge cold opener!) One a tall blond with frizzy hair, prolly 6'3, the other girl blond also, about 5'5. I went with the talk show opener, and they totally went for it, as Dave was talking to someone else when I approached. The second set was mostly me carrying things, as opposed to Dave in the first set. I ran the best friends test on them, and they liked it. Things were going well untill the short blond who was a dental assistant, said I was full of hot air after I ran the C vs. U shaped smiles routine on her. Other than that, this was the better set of the 2. Ddint number close after Dave was playing with the hair of the short blond I was talking to. He regretted it later for being AFC in that moment.
In conclusion, I still cant believe I'm really doing this. All my life I've never been able to to what we did last night. I think I had 1 too many beers(4), that might have helped, but Im limiting myself to 2 next time. Approacinhing women you dont know stone cold sober is a thing that makes many a man quake in his shoes. Untill now I was in that category. The is like a dream come true in some ways. I never learned to do this years ago, and its best in some ways that it happend that way. I got more of a kick out of those 2 sets that I've had in a long time. Its surreal to me, that this is actually happening. The best thing, is it only gets better from here. I'm just starting out. I dont know where this will lead, but I hope to have the skills to get the interist of a girl like Leah or Angie when the opprotunity arises. THAT is why I'm doing this.

Field Report #3

We got shut out last night. Opened between 5-10 sets, only once got past the opener. Only tried sets of girls, no mixed sets. No place was as packed as Primos on Tuesday. That place was jammed, people everywhere. Makes it easier to open. I think part of it was my dumb call to wack the night before. Tues and Wed I was ON, yesterday, I was ice cold, all that power and confidence gone. Stupid habit. It was probably a combination of things that got us shut out so far. Not building and keeping momentum is one. Not approaching mixed sets is another. And the age difference between me and Dave is the last one.
What I've learned so far:
-The busier the place is, the easier it is to find sets.
-Momentum is key! Build momentum early in the night. If you open 1 set at a place, whether its that busy or not, stick around, as more opprotunities may present themselves from your social proof.
-Knowing how to open mixed sets is crucial to good sarging.
-Know your audience. I'm young enough to open almost any set we saw last night. My wing (Dave) whos in his late 30's got me blown out a few times list night I think. It's better to go it alone in those situations.
-If your standing and the set is sitting, its very easy to get blown out. You must have an open seat, or take one of theirs (See The Game example with ESP trick).
-Peacocking works
-Dont wack the night before sarging, 'nuff said.
-I have no fear of approaching now. After a few good sets the other night, any apprehension is now gone. I just think strategy now.
-I'm already as good if not better than Dave. He's done this before, so I dont know how much he will improve, but Im just starting out, and have a lot of room to grow.

Went to 3 different places Friday night. Started at the Sugar Shack on Greenvilleat about 9:30. Dave opened the first 2 set, one thick brunette, and one cute near blonde. Mostly ignored the near blonde for a few minutes, and stole her chair when she went to go get drinks. Isolated her and got kino with the ESP trick. She thought I was full of hot air, even though I guessed her number(7). Ejected because both were in serious relationships. This set was the second time that Dave opened and I took control of the set once things got going.
We tried to go to Purgatory, but Dave got in before 11 and I didnt. He must of known I didnt get in, but he didnt wanna leave. After I finally got ahold of him, 20 minutes later, he was whining and complaining. He gets like a little kid who wants his own way when hes had a few beers.
Then we went to Obar, which was packed at about 11:30. The music was loud, and the guy girl ratio was about even. One of the toughest situations to open in, in my opinion. If you can do well here, you can do it anywhere. Approached 3 sets, and never got passed the opener. Maybe I should try for a different style opener, or maybe Im choosing the wrong sets, not sure yet. Dave sits back and waits for sets to come to him. I use the 3 second rule, or a variation of it, but I open quickly. He waits almost till they open him. Many times he doesnt get the chance, and his % of getting past the opener is no better than mine, but because he takes so long, he opens maybe half the sets I do.
I got opened once by an older blonde, probably 35. She liked my rockstar shirt, and was all kino on me. I used the 2 dogs opener and talked with her for a few minutes. I gave a time constraint, and asked her to think of more dogs names while I was gone. I came back probably 15-20 minutes later, which was too long I think. The guy she was talking to left to go get drinks(ha!) and I was isolated with her for probably 5-7 minutes with a lot of kino. I negged her on her hair, which was probably a mistake as she wasnt a 9 or 10, and was all over me in the first place. I tried to isolate her again when her friend came back with drinks, and she said she would go somewhere and I could wait there for her. I declined and said Id be back in a few. I never got a chance to see it go any further.
I should have isolated her as quick as possible when I talked to her the first time, I prolly could have kiss closed pretty easy. The neg didnt work out like I hoped. I should have moved faster when I came back to talk, as I missed my chance to close. If I were to do that set again, I would have tried to isolate immidately when i talked to her the first time, or moved faster when I came back the second time. That set was a gimmie for a kiss close, and I muffed it.
More learning:
~Older single women appreciate attention more than younger girls closer to my age, looks aside.
~Every night IS a new adventure
~Women can sense momentum. Every night I've gotten past the opener once, I've opened several times. The night I was shut out, I was shut out many times. It might be best to open with an easy set early, to set the tone for the night.
~I have a confidence now that I've never had in these situations.
~I'm pretty sure my choice of wing is getting me shut out of as many sets as I goof, equal ratio. I'll be on the opener, and one girl in the set will see my wing, and try to eject me quickly. This is only with girls close to my age.

The first opened us, as they were finishing dinner, saying they thought they knew me from somewhere. Talked to them for about 5 minutes or so. The second set was 2 brunettes, who were cheering during the football game. I just walked over and asked them qwho they were rooting for. Got to use the best friends test, which they seemed into, but things kinda died off after that. Dave and I were debating his high/low table theory. I went out on the patio and asked a 2 set about it. Talked with tthem a few minutes, and ejected. The last one was a 1 set that I opened with the high/low table theory. Things went well, untill I tried to isolate, and she said she needed to stay near her friend, then went to the bathroom, and didnt come back till some time later. We also ran into the 2 set that I number closed last Tuesday. We talked to them for a few, and that was it.
I mixed more natural personality last night, rather than just material. I think I may have gone too far away from the material, and need to come back a little. Every night I go further into sets, and get blown out less. I opened/directed 4 sets to Daves 2 last night. I'm putting the 3 second rule into action, and its working. Just walk up and open, its that simple. I cant believe its only been 8 days since that night last week, I opend cold. It seems like so much has happened between then and now. I'm going to keep at it, and improving. I'm excited to see where this leads.

Went to Primos last night with Dave. It was the best night yet for me. We got seats at the bar, and I went outside to smoke a clove. Annette, Latina from NYC, opened me and we talked for a few. I went back inside and sat down. Tall brunette, Sunny, I opened when she bumped into me ordering a drink. I went C&F on her about invading my space. This went back and forthand I was getting a lot of kino from her, including a kiss or 2 on the cheek. I asked her to hold our seats as Dave and I went outside, and she did for a few minutes, but she left them before we got back in.
As we were about to leave to go to the Quarter, I opened a mixed 5 set(my first true cold mixed set opener!), with the "looks like the party is over here" "who lies more" openers. The guys seems shocked that I had just taken over their set. The look on the one guys face was priceless, I hope I never forget it. I came into the set next to the lest attractive of the 3 girls(who was still kinda cute)and opened. The target/hot girl,wasnt addressed at first, and started playing back at me playfully after her friend said she liked my shirt. I had totally taken over the set from those 2 guys, but I ejected quickly, and went over to the Quarter. I was nervous about openening that set. It felt like such a huge jump from opening just girl sets to a mixed set and true group set theory. I played by the rules, and the results were exactly what they should have been. Open the whole group, dont pay attention to the hot one at first, and she will come after you. Worked flawlessly!
I opened 2 sets at the Quarter. The first Lane, about an 8 blonde, i opened about her body language, as she was standing with her arms crossed. Chatted for a bit, and she stayed to talk for a bit after her friend(dude) came back from the bathroom, which is a good sign. She was going upstairs and invited Dave and I to join them. The second set was 2 girls, neither was all that cute. They were laughing, so i used the "i hear laughter, whos the naughty one?" opener. I ejected quickly on that one too.
I feel like I've passed some sort of mark. I've been opening with near 100% success lately. I can get into conversation after the opener with every set lately(knock on wood). The conversation is where I feel things out, and make a decision to stay for a bit or eject almost instantly. I'll work on pushing sets further next time I go out. I feel like I have a good grasp on openeing now, but havent worked on much past that yet. Even Dave said I was getting good, which is a good sign for sure. My PUA name Phoenix has gone over well last night. I like it and can use it like its my own name. Beautiful. Being a PUA is fun!
