Young AFC in college

Postby Nick » Fri Jan 07, 2011 1:28 am

Hello,
I am a freshman in college, attending a school in the DFW area. I've had pretty poor luck socially, especially with girls; I have only gotten laid once, with a girl who I now realize I supplicated to a lot. Other than this girl, I haven't had any other relationships, or even gone on any dates (perhaps making me a BAFC, I dunno.)
In college I am surrounded by HBs, which is a bad thing when you're just another AFC.
I've been a nice guy, and that hasn't worked out for me. So, I want to change, and so I am here right now, looking for advice and experience.
I already skimmed the advice about college, but that seems to be if you're just starting college; I'm already a semester into my year.
With that said, any advice for someone in my position would be awesome.
Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

1) You need to start making conversation with random people. Start a conversation with people on the bus, train, airplane, in the grocery store, etc. It doesn't matter if it's a guy, girl, hot, or ugly person (or whatever the case may be). This will help your approach anxiety.

2) Any negative feelings that you have toward yourself, get ride of them. Take up hobbies that will improve your self confidence (gym, kick boxing, karate) anything that will make you feel better about yourself and think highly of you. Get a hair cut, buy a cologne, buy some nice shirts at Express, or any other trendy store. This takes care of the physical aspect. Now start reading books, anything that will improve your knowledge in different topics. Women love men who are interesting. Work on your sense of humor, there is nothing better than making a woman laugh. You have a personality, so don't be afraid to show it.

3) Remember, people analyze our body language far more than anything that we say. Therefore, work on your posture. Make sure that you convey to other people that you are a young, confident and interesting person. You do not have to try and be like anybody else. Be who you are and feel good about yourself (and show it) and results will follow, I promise.

4) Think of women (strangers) as your friends. They are human beings as well, right?. They have the same physical and emotional desires as men. Women like to be around someone who is interesting, fun and adventurous. Talk to women in bars and other places about great things that you have seen and done just like you would talk to your friends. The point here is that when women sense that your motive is sex after you approach, they feel uncomfortable. So by approaching and making them believe that you are a nice and genuine guy, who is interesting
and fun to be around will score you major points with the ladies. Don't be like other guys, be unique and interesting.

5) Don't take rejection personally. Instead, see it as an opportunity to grow as an individual. Here we go back to the confidence part again. This is such an important thing, for if you are successful in other areas of your life, success with women will follow. Don't be shy to allow your interests and hobbies shine! There are millions and millions of women who have the same interests and hobbies as you do. Therefore, if you get rejected, she was not right for you in the first place.

6) Finally, practice makes perfect. Follow all of these steps and learn to love yourself. And as a result, women will love you back. I hate to break it to you, but there is a learning curve here because
you need to work on several yourself in many ways (we all do). So be patient, and try to get more comfortable with the opposite sex. Good luck to you!!!!
