It's scary to relate some of this stuff to some PUA's. I even feel like I have some of these qualities... The things in parentheses are the things that I related most strongly to some of the PUA's Iv'e either met or read about.

Profile of the Sociopath

Glibness and (Superficial Charm)

(Manipulative) and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet seeing their target as merely an instrument to be used.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

Pathological Lying
(Has no problem lying coolly and easily) and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. (Extremely convincing) and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. (Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities.) The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
(When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive.)

Incapacity for Love

Need for Stimulation
(Living on the edge.) Promiscuity and gambling (Hey, that's me! lol) are common.

Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Mental abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the target. (Push Pull theory?)

Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed. (This is the definition of the Rake)

Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity and sexual acting out of all sorts. (This requires no explanation)

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed. Changes life story readily. (Peacocking/Backstory?)

They're are a few others, but they were the really bad ones about killing people and hiding them in your basement and I figured that didn't apply unless you were pushing the line WAY past PUA. And if the killing people and hiding them in your basement does apply to you, please seek professional help.

I don't think all of these are bad qualities to have. It just backs up my point that you have to be yourself. Comments?

everyone possesses the same traits to some degree, the only difference is to what degree. People are more alike than they are different, doesn't surprise me at. This is what cold reading and horoscopes are founded on. There is negativeity associated with everything, and if we focus on that it does seem a little scary but its not realistic.

Wow, I'm really glad you picked up on the cold read aspect of this. That's exactly what I did to kinda see who would pick up on it. It's the reason I "highlighted" certain aspects. By doing that, most people would pick up on those aspects that most closely related to most Pickup Artists.

I think pickup artists have a lot more in common with Pimps than rapist, serial killers, etc. but thats my opinion. Both have game (though PUAs target high value women in contrast), both peacock, and both ideally have an interesting and rewarding lifestyle, and if you count girls buying drinks I guess both can be considered to be making money off women, drinks ain't free!

This conversation we are having could very easily be turned into a routine.

"OMG I read this article that linked behaviors of pickup artist, you know like from that show, to serial killers! I gotta get back to my friends in a min. but check this out. (run through the schpeel, wing it not like it matters what the content is) I think its all bullshit, PUAs are more like pimps." and stack forward.

LOL! I don't know, its all making more since now. I think now as long as you can speak for more than a minute and your nonverbals are good you can do just about anything.

That does sound like a pretty good routine, I don't think I would use that as an opener though. I think it would hook more easily in attraction or comfort.


And just by the way, most girls, for some reason, actually like you more if they find out you are a PUA. They think its exciting that they actually get to be "picked up" by an actual PUA and that you actually chose them from the other girls at the venue. It's weird, but true. I got called out a couple weeks ago at Sherlock's when I opened. The obstacle strait up said, "That sounds like something from this book I heard about. Have you read "The Game?"

This was the second time this has happened to me over the past year and it didn't take me by surprise this time. I said, "Yeah, I'm on page 212. Neil's a good guy."

She was so shocked that she actually got up and left with her face red and the HB was all over me the rest of the night.

Probably right, not good opener material. I've been better using no opener anyway. Things like "Hey" or "whats up" Then I start talking about things that interest me, or stuff that relates to my life, attraction if you will. Maybe thats why it makes more since to me. Only thing I'm really consciously doing is kino, and body language.

I have heard of using the being outed thing as a positive thing. Its like outframing their negative perceptions.

I don't really use openers either. I have used some of Mehow's stuff when it comes to opening though. It works pretty well.
