Where do you shop?

Postby Scoundrel » Sat Nov 14, 2009 10:48 am

I have found that Nordstrom's has some of the coolest clothes. But, their prices are pretty high. Sometimes I an find some cool stuff at Dillard's and their prices are better. A place I try to hit once a week is called Plato's Closet. It's a used clothing store that only carries high end clothes. You guys that were there last night saw me in a suede jacket that only cost me $25. I've also bought shoes there. They have a great selection of jeans too. Plato's has locations everywhere. Just keep in mind that it's a used clothing store and to find the best stuff you have to g there often. Alsao, if you see something ou like you'd better buy it. It likely won't bet there when you come back.

I lost my hook up for good shoes. So, if anyone knows a good place please let me in on it.

Yeah, I take a lot of stuff to a tailor too.

Last night I stopped by a place called Re Threads on Preston at 635. They had some cool stuff there. But, they were high for a resale shop.

I've been to a tailor twice in my life, both to get Tuxedo pants hemmed during high school. I admit, I know nothing of the process. What articles of clothing do you guys tend to get altered and what sort of price is involved?

Plato's Closet sounds amazing. I heard the an advertisement on the radio for 'em and have been meaning to check them out.

Where do you guys go for accessories? I have 1, a necklace I bought last night. I really really want to incorporate more into my style.

I'm tall so I never have to have my paints tailored. But, I almost always have my shirts taken in through the chest and waist. Also any blazers I buy I have tucked a little to avoid that boxie look.

As for accessories, I don't have a certain place. sometimes I'll buy a belt buckle from that cart in the mall. Sometimes I'll buy something in a store. I just look for things I like that I think will go well with what I already have. I stick to stainless steel though. It's more versatile than gold.

I keep being asked if my stainless and black rings are tungsten, not a bad thing at all. :) I got mine from http://www.aldoshoes.com

for those of us in Funky town, I just found a cool place at Ridgemar Mall called "Greek & Italian Leather." I just bought a pair of shoes for $40 and they threw in a belt for free.
