My opinion on the "Stay or Go" poll

Postby JohnnyBravo » Sat Oct 17, 2009 2:17 am

First off, I have a lot of things going on right now (well, actually one thing. But it takes up a fucking ton of my time!) and I don't visit this page much. But I do check it from time to time. I'm in a very VERY, VERY, rich target environment and have the opportunity to game almost constantly in a variety of settings!

I logged in tonight and saw Scoundrel's poll. Since I haven't been a regular latey, I did a search for all of Scoundrel's posts before making my decision in the poll (You should too!). I found that most of Scoundrel's posts were very informative. Thanks to his posts, I've used a few of his suggestions and have been successfull with them. In my search, I found that there were only a couple of individuals who had issues with his posts (If you don't know what or who I'm talking about, I suggest that you use the search feature so that you can make an informed decision before voting.). These individuals claimed that Scoundrel was flaming them. It is my opinion that these individuals do not really understand or know what flaming is. Scoundrel was disagreeing with (attacking) their ideas, not attacking the individuals personally. These individuals need to respond by providing evidence that supports their ideas rather than just stating "I"m being flammed" (Maybe they can't defend their ideas so they resort this tactic? Something to think about.). THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!! Disagreeing with an idea is not flaming. It's not a personal attack. A PERSONAL ATTACK would be flaming. Get a grip people! Not only is Scoundrel listed as a mod, he is a good contributer as well. I have not seen evidence of any flamming taking place. Other internet forums that I am a member of do not grant "moderator" status to those who have a history of flaming. He needs to stay.

Just remember that its HIS CHOICE to leave or put it up for vote or whatever. He chose to write that post.
I only say he flames because on a few issues he will not allow for other people's opinions. That makes him a horrible moderator.

LOOKS MATTER.
Why should I listen to you when you don't even get laid?

I must take issue with this. I have NEVER attempted to censer anyone's opinion on any subject. When someone disagrees with me I see it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Either I have to learn more about what my points are or I can learn something from someone else. I am open minded. If X works for you t I think that fantastic. However, if I think X is a load of BS or is unethical I will say so. I have never insulted anyone on this or any other forum. Go back and read any post I've made.

As a mod if I didn't want some subject discussed I could simply delete that post or thread. I could just make anyone's thoughts disappear. But, I don't. We learn the truth through disagreement. I have an idea and someone thinks it wrong. So, we discuss it and by doing so we learn the truth. Discussion and debating. We learn the truth by looking through the windows of doubt.

Lastly, I agree with you. Looks do matter. I just feel there are other things that are even more important. That matter even more.

ok look this has gotten way out of control. sorry I've been gone for a few days. look scoundrel all i'm saying is that if you do agree that looks matter and you didn't have anything positive to add to the conversation. why bother posting on the subject? isn't this forum about helping each other improve? and by call people indirectly fat fucks don't you think that you're flaming? could you answer that?

ps i voted for you to stay because it's all a bunch of silliness and you should'nt leave for a disagreement. I'm just disagreeing with your methods of disagreement however i think that it is your duty as the moderator to prevent these kinds of useless and derailing posts.

I did write "fat fuck." But, it was never my intention to insinuate anyone is a fat fuck. I'm and ectomorph and therefore called my self a skinny fuck. In other words it was a joke. A joke I stole from Penn of Penn and Teller. They used these same words on their show "Bullshit."

If it offended anyone I offer my sincere apologies.

It is my feeling that looks matter. But, not necessarily good looks. Having a unique, cool look IMHO can do more for you than good looks can if you have the social skills to back it up.

I believe improving our social skills will take us further when it comes to interacting with women much quicker than losing 30 pounds will. Yes, losing weight may be a good idea for some of us (myself included) but improving our social skills is where the money is IMHO.

I never said anyone shouldn't lose weight or work out if they want to. What I did say (and still say) is that improving social skills will do much more for you game, much faster than working out and losing weight will. I've know too many short, fat guys with great game to be easily swayed from this view. All you have to do is take a look at Lovedrop. I think we can all agree he is getting results.

yeah he's pretty heavy there but that's from like 2000 seen him recently? thin. so is stevie from rsd who openly admits he took a year off from the game to lose weight. and i would assume they both have the social skills of a rock star(ok maybe a litte pun intened) since they are trainers. just not that important to you. very important to us... so maybe....just maybe you could let us have a conversation about it. would that be alright? could other people talk about stuff without your input if you have no positive input? just sayin.

Of course you have a right to discuss anything about pick up in this forum. But, I have as much right to post my thoughts and opinions on topics as anyone else. If I have opinions I am going to post them. It appears that you are the one attempting to censor people. If you don't like what I have to say you are free to retort or ignore me. I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me as long as they are civil about it.
