Amen to the outlet malls, especially Kennith Cole...the affordable Prada. Sebastian's Closet is kinda expensive, but probably the best mens fashion spot in town. They also do the best tailor/haberdasher service in town, and are very reasonable on pricing. I will not take my cloths anywhere else.
I grew up around the fashion industry. My mother has been with a local agency for 26 years booking models, and my sister works for a massive retailer as the advertising director, so fashion is pretty much embedded in my brain. In the last couple years I've put on some muscle, and rather than wear a tight shirt and look like a douche-canoe, pretty much every time I go out its a t-shirt with with sleeves short enough to show off the vascularity (thanks mom and dad), $20 levis 527 (boot cut/low rise), and some raunchy ass, pointy cowboy boots, which happen to be the best money I've ever spend on boots (custom made by ponder boot company), and a brown corduroy blazer if its cold. I can get into any club in town looking like this.
A couple years ago I wore flat front pants, square toed shoes, and a dress shirt, but that's become the standard "go out to a bar" uniform. Men and women alike constantly deliver compliments on the boots.
Good luck finding a men's snipped toe boot that doesn't look like this:
mine were custom made by the Ponder Boot Company. Although its more expensive initially, they might last the rest of my life, they fit perfectly from the mold of my foot, and I own a truly unique pair of boots.
I almost bought some identical looking brown gators in Santa Fe, but they were $14,000. lol. I was thinking, "fuck, I did not need to see this shit, now I'm going to drop $1500 on a pair of fucking boots, but I don't have a choice...look at them." Then i saw the price and felt much better about buying that turbo kit for the miata when I got home...lol.
