Clothing advice for you

Postby madstork » Mon Mar 10, 2008 12:55 am

I have been reading alot lately. I'm almost done with The Mystery Method and i'm also listening to a podcast called PickupPodcast. Anyway my point was this; I will be going shopping this Wed in dallas with a gay friend to give me tips on how to dress sharp. He is a co-worker and always dresses very nicely. The podcast talks alot about how women will notice things like how you dress yourself the moment your introduced. Has anyone else found this to be true in your experience? Also, if you have any recomendations on where to go look please let me know.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a casual look, there are some cool stores like the buffalo exchange on greenville. But if you are wanting a super trendy look, anywhere in North Park will work. There are some cool small stores in the up-town area too.

But I would guess that your gay friend has a good clue of where to go.

not to suck my own dick, but I happen to think I have an eye for style. If you're needing help or suggestions or some shit, PM me...or something and I'll be glad to help.

There is a business book called "Dress for Success" and according to the book... First impression is everything. It only takes 7 seconds to form an opinion of you based on your initial appearance and it will take alot of hours or days (cannot remember this specifics) to convince and break the initial opinion of you.

LOL I've had gay men ask me for fashion advice!

Stores I highly recommend.

Buckle - Awesome pant selection. There shirt selection is very good as well.
Guess - Usually have trendy pants and shirts.
Metropark if you can afford it. They are crazy expensive.
Banana Republic - I used to buy most of my stuff there. Now it has gotten a little too dressy for me. I will still find a pimp shirt here every once in a while. And they always have nice pants.

Experiment with what you like and what results you get with what. My style is almost always identical.

Hopefully Lion chimes on here and gives you his advice. That guy has a different style every time I see him.

Absolutely 100% correct. Women notice it even before you are introduced. Women always notice how I dress and compliment something. Having a sense of style is such an easy way in with a woman/women. Definitely take your gay friends advice. Gay men know how to dress. My advice would be to nor wear any baggy clothes, even if you're too fat or too skinny. She can already see that, you can't hide it by wearing baggy clothes. If you're muscled up wear really tight t-shirts. If not, check out express. You'll walk out of that store looking like a million bucks. Get yourself a nice form-fitting button up shirt, a nice bold tie (not too over the top) and a good pair of jeans. Sweater vests or v-neck sweaters go great. Shoes are probably the most important thing. Your gay friend knows a good pair of shoes.
