You guys have been busting on Westfall pretty hard about trying to track down a lost number, and although I do think that there are limits as to how far one should go to track down a lost number I also believe that you should do something to recover a lost number from someone with which you felt a connection. I’ve been in a similar situation.
Three days after Christmas I met a girl at bar off of Lower Greenville, I gamed her for a while then cut out. But, I had more of a connection with her than normal. I pulled her number and sent her one text the next day. After she responded, I attempted to respond and in doing so dropped my phone into the toilet. Once I fished it out, thank God it wasn’t a public toilet, I realized that my phone was defunct. The next day my company issued me a new phone and hers was the only number that didn’t transfer to the new phone. At first I figured she would just contact me and I’d get it back…a week later, no contact. Then one day, I was tooling around on MySpace and managed to find her profile (she was a very unique name for a girl and was essentially the first hit). So, I dropped her a line…I felt like a HUGE loser. But I figured it didn’t really hurt at this point.
Three weeks later she sent me a text message asking if I still had the same number. I called her the next day, ran some phone game on her and set up a day2 at which I f-closed her. We’ve been seeing each other ever since. Turns out she thought that it was endearing that I tracked her down. Yes, it can seem pathetic to track down a girl…BUT it could also get you laid by a really awesome girl as well. Don’t be afraid to do stuff like this, just don’t go overboard.
Westfall, if you rent out a billboard for the express purpose of trying to contact her again then you’ve gone too far

The difference is indifference.
