Being called out...

Disclaimer...I dont post too many field reports because I think that most of the situations that we deal with have been talked about in the boards ad nauseum. However, if its new to the commumnity or I have personally been enlightened I will post it.


Venue & Date: Black finn, Monday night @ about 11PM

I open a 2 set.

Knight rose: Hey guys can I get a quick female opinion on something?
HB: Hey...are you one of the guys from that show on VH1?
Knight rose: What? Ohh...yea yea yea.. I know the show youre talking about. It had those guys right??
HB: Yes...
Knight rose: That was a cool show. Did you watch it?
HB: not really..but it had this really tall guy with a kiss mark on his cheek
Knight rose: Yea, I remember..did they give out like pick up lines and stuff?
HB: yea...

I promise thats exactly ho wit went down... I ploughed through and the key for me was that I learnt that even though the girls watched it they have forgotten it or just know very little.

I also did some rapport seeking kino on the girl who called me out signalling to the girl that I would use that topic to seek rapport with her. In hindsight I should not have done this as she instantly developed a bitch shield where as her friend was still talking to me.

Obviously this is the first time for me and so its not field tested.

Way to plow through. I would give youself a pat on the back for that.

This is why I think newbies should use canned openers. Because you will occasionally run into this and it helps you calibrate.

I will say that is one of the most common openers to use. Another thing you can do is drop the can I get your opinion part of it. Just go straight into the question without asking if you can ask. I think this gets away from the opinion opener and that is the part they really remember from the show.

Yes there was...if you see my dialog I said "what?" as soon as I was called out. That was a moment of awkwardness for me. I dont think that in the loud bar she noticed.

Same thing happened to me a week or 2 ago at a party. It was a 2 set and I screwed it up big time. I used the girls masturbate in shows script. I got half way through and they said "Yeah, Yeah, we've heard that one." Then looked at each other and kinda laughed. Cant remember exactly what my responce was but it wasn't nearly as smooth as yours. I excused myself shortly after. You handled it much better that I did. After getting alot of the guys opinions in here IF it ever comes up again I know how to handle it with ease.
