Dallas Lair - WTF?

Postby JohnnyBravo » Tue Nov 28, 2006 6:39 pm

I found the Dallas Lair website through Asian Playboy's website. I decided to check it out and had to "apply" and be approved for membership. In my introduction I mentioned that I was currently a member of this board. This is the e-mail I received back.

Your request to join The Dallas Lair was declined.

The person who declined your request, Dimitry James, said:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry but you may not use that nickname - it is in use by a
Prominent PUA. Nor may you list DallasPUA in your membership
information. Please remove yourself from DallasPUA.com, change
your nickname and information, and reapply here at www.
DallasSeductionLair.com.

And in another e-mail I got this:

Please note that sharing message posts and other content with
DallasPUA.com will result in a permanent ban. Read the FAQ for
more information. DallasPUA.com has stolen content from our
Lair - without providing proper backlinks or credit of any
sort. This has resulted in content updates to the inner lair
sections ONLY!!! As long as they steal content, there will be
no content updates in the resources section for the basic
member class - which is what you are about to become.

Happy Sarging,
And I hope to meet you at a future Dallas Lair Meetup.

-- Dimitry James,
Organizer of the Dallas Seduction Lair

WTF is this all about? I wrote a rather nasty note back to Mr. Dimitry. I don't like this guy's attitude and I don't think I'll be joining. He gives the impression that I should stop posting to this forum (dallaspua.com) if I want to join his. Fuck that. It's absolutely assinine IMO. You can't go around telling people "if you want to belong to my website, you can't post on another website". That's just childish and immature. What's the big deal? I'm new to this community. Does Mr. Dimitry's attitude reflect the normal attitude in this community? What happened to trying to help each other and the free flow of information? This is total BS! If content is posted on a website is it not in the public domain?

Rant over.

I have made it a point to ignore such malicious ramblings. Though you are owed a brief explanation.

This drama is now solely Dimitry's making. I did all I could to resolve it and work together. Below is a post I addressed to Dimitry in RunningAPUAgroup (this discussion group is for all lair leaders) in the beginning of 2006:

14-Feb-2006
Dimitry I didn’t mind when you borrowed ideas from my site or banned me from your board on false pretenses. Please stop making this into a battlefield. This knowledge we learn is beautiful, lets not use it in ugliness. Once again, Dimitry, I propose a truce.

Most of the ideas on his meetup group such as the resource page, online chat, sub forums, etc were actually taken from dallaspua.com. I was hoping for civility and cooperation. Dimitry see's Dallas PUA a threat to his power and control over his group. So, of course, this lair is the target of lies and mud slinging such as this addressed to Magnus who runs RunningAPUAgroup:

06-Oct-2006
That's right, kick out super-creepy guys. Let them start their own
lairs. Don't bother notifying magnus when this happens, because he'll
let them into the lair organizers group here, even if you strongly
object. He'll even go and visit them (without notifying you at all) to
show his support for the super-creep!!!

That's the situation here in Dallas.

-- Dimitry

Of course, I am the creepy guy he is referring to :D There are people that will always slander and talk negatively about others. This is just life. Being able to ignore such people is what makes us better individuals.

Let us ignore such people and work on helping each other become better beings.

Well, the only thing I have to say is I signed up for both at the same time and I have had a positive experience so far here. Oh, and you guys didn't ask me for $10 as soon as I signed up without explaining what it was for. I now scratch my head and wonder who sounds more creepy. Of course that's just a first impression. You could be real creepy Mojo.
All this brings me to the question, since I have no money to throw at this community, is there anything I can do to help out?

Thanks Mojo. After I posted that I found a previous thread here discussing the issue and it kind of cleared up a few things. You clearly have more class than that joker. This site is wonderful!

Thanks for a good site Mojo!

I looked into them after I found this board... The whole approval system was trash. I was completely turned off to it before i even caught wind of the drama. I'm even more turned off to it now!

if he's doing something like that he's either jealous, stuck up, or ignorant. I mean he may be a good PUA and all but we do this to enjoy this... not to get pushed into some stereotype of PUAs. Just cause we're dallaspua.com it doesnt make us any more different than the majority of the guys on his website. The separation is ridiculously childish and really lowers his respect that many peopl may have had at some point or another.
