asian girl opener- work in progress

Postby dex » Mon Jan 15, 2007 9:54 am

As mentioned before, there are quite a few asians at chaucer's. So I've been trying to think of an easy way to open them and this came up. Its premise is not knowing mandarin/ chinese.

Guy: Hey, Ive got a quick question for you, do you know what (Insert chinese for 'youre handsome') means?
HBimport: haha, Yes, it means "youre handsome"
Guy: Oh... shit, a girl over there I was talking with kept saying that to me, but she wouldnt tell me what it meant! I told her I was going to leave to find my friends if she kept it up...

any opinions?

It sounds like too much work for an opener. It is interesting though. Some things to think about. Cantonese is more common in my experience. You would have to make sure the target was Chinese because if she was Korean/Japanese/Vietnamese etc it may become a DLV. I would say stick with the canned ones and avoid anything ethnicly specific. If you piss him off because you thought he was a girl, who cares, but if you piss her off because you thought she was Chinese and she's actually Korean that would suck.

Another thing to think about is contingencies for all the possibilities. There's a good chance she'll say "I have no idea." Be prepared for that. One advantage to running the same canned opener over and over is that you will encounter all the contingencies and get familiar with them. You won't have to make stuff up on the spot. Not that you can't make stuff up on the spot but the more automatic it is, the more you can focus on proper delivery, gauging her reaction, your body language, etc. Spinning a story in real time takes a lot of brain cycles that can distract from those other things.

Also you're probably going to want to have backstory followup material that is interesting enough to talk about without sounding try-hard. Then you have more time to make your transition rather than having to transition right away.

Lines I like to roll with with asians:

omgdallas: sooo, whats it like being asian?
hbasian: lol

or roleplay about her being your live in asian cook, i need my sweet and sour pork every other day dammit.

sometimes they get pissed off, but it only adds to the sexual tension

the only two things i can say in cantonese are (phonetically spelled):
nay how - hello
gum jo - doorbell (can be usefull if you are saying it while poking a girl in her nipple, not that i would advise this course of action)

anyway... living in north dallas / plano i have seen tons of really cute asian girls with fugly asian guys... makes me wonder if cracking the race barrier is possible... there is such a disparity in looks that i often find myself getting annoyed and almost asking them if they are related (that would explain a hb8+ hanging with a dude2)... i like the fact that they are preserving their culture (something that seems to be lost on different white ethnic groups these days) but really, the disparity is really almost too much to take

My brother (dancer on the boards) is working almost exclusively asian girls. Crossing the race barrier is always a problem but not as much of one as you would think. It's something that can be blown out with game. It's about as tough to get them interested in crossing the race barrier as it is for you to cross the race barrier to run game on her. Race isn't so much a lock in as it is a default.
