First, start off by downloading the two following packages to get the client installed.
silky-0.5.4-win32.exe
gtk-win32-2.6.4-rc1.exe
from http://silky.sourceforge.net/download.shtml
Install both before attempting to run the program
Easy enough! Now...to connect
Double-click the Silky icon.
After it does the auto-key generation, you will get a black window like this
Click 'Preferences' then 'Edit Preferences'
All you really need to fill out is the 'User Information' Tab...you can enter in the server info in the 'Server' tab if you really want. Skip the 'Change Passphrase' field.
Once you're done, click OK, then type this in the text box below the black window.
/server rukia.propagation.net 50000
give it a sec, it will connect to my server, and I believe it asks you about the public key. Just click yes, accept...wtvr. Just don't cancel.
to join the channel, type:
/join pua
**NOTE: If you've used irc before, note that the channel doesn't have a '#' in front of it. on this chat server, #pua and pua are two different channels.!! ***
Voila! You're in PUA chat. It's a good way to waste time at work!!
You can change your nickname by
/nick insert_name_here
Maybe if this gets popular, the owner of dallaspua.com can add the subdomain irc.dallaspua.com and point it to my server, to make it easier for people to connect.
Let me know what ya think.
