In-N-Out burger

In-N-Out burger

I don't understand the cult like following that this franchise has acquired. Everywhere I go, all I hear about is the new In-N-out in frisco and in allen. It's all over facebook, the news, and even the radio.

Am I missing something here? I'll admit, I haven't had one before. But, the hysteria surrounding it is absurd. People are acting like they won the lottery.

Sure, the burger may taste good, but I'm sure I have had a similar burger from a fast food joint at some point, whether it be a whataburger or a freddys. And I guarantee that it won't taste as good as if I went to the store and bought some high quality meat and made a burger myself, not to mention I actually would know what the hell is in it.

Check out this link, it has a video of a girl crying over eating an In-N-Out burger. - http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/cityofate/2011/05/in-n-out_burger_is_so_good_you.php

I'm willing to bet that In-N-Out are simply marketing geniuses that have over hyped their product so much that people start thinking it is the holy grail.

Of course, I will have to try it myself at some point before I can fully comment on it, but I can't help but think how absurd this whole thing has gotten.

It's not a gift from God, but whataburger is pretty crap compared to In'n'out. As for the girl crying - some people have issues.

It's big out in California. In fact, I think it only exists in California and Vegas, and now Dallas.

I tried in and out once. I was visiting a friend in Los Angeles, and he INSISTED that I had to go to In and Out and have a burger "animal style."

I did, and hey it's a great burger. They make them with as many patties as you want, which is cool.

Everywhere has its chains. I've only ever seen Whataburger in Texas. In Colorado, we grew up with something called Good Times. Just thinking about a Good Times burger makes my mouth water. In Chicago and on the East Coast, we have something called White Castle, which is kind of shitty compared to those other chains. They specialize in mini burgers or "sliders" and you buy burgers by the bag.

That's probably more in depth than I needed to go. Thanks alot Gunslinger, now you made me hungry lol.

When I saw the title to this thread
I though:
"Oh god, not another guy who waited 2 hours to buy a burger that's probably not even any good"

Sure, I'll try it out eventually
but this who "Driving 30+ miles and waiting 2 hours in line" crap is pretty ridiculous
I'd rather wait a month when I'm in the area and the hype dies down

2 HOURS?? Holy hell, that's pathetic. People really need more entertainment in their lives.

Damn right that's gonna be a good burger if you waited around TWO HOURS to eat it.

That's what I call being a few marshmallows short of a bowl of Lucky Charms, right there. Idiots.

Texas. Where the average IQ is room temperature. :) Nah, I'm just playing.

Ahh. Well I'm on my blackberry from the Jurrasic era 99 percent of the time I'm on this board (like right now), so I haven't had a chance to view the vids. Should be a good laugh though!

The best burger I've ever had was at a place called Hudson's out in Idaho. Its kind of a hole-in-the wall joint, but its world famous as far as Idaho establishments go.

They serve you a burger with a slice of cheese and chopped onions. If you ask for condiments, they kick you out. That's how good the meat tastes at Hudsons. Actually they allow ketchup I think. Or is it mustard? I forget.

In-n-Out Burger is a good burger.

But, so is Whataburger.

I don't think it's at all a big deal that they're here.

Plus anyways, if I want a great burger I'll hit up The Angry Dog, Twisted Root, or, as Gunslinger pointed out, go to the grocery store and make my own.

Fast food is overrated.
