Depends, are you talking about past tense, future tense, present? Third person, or narrative?

Lol I think it's all personal preference but the idea's are all the same, namely, middle of nowhere.

unless you literally live in the sticks with nothing for miles there is always something to do within about 5 miles of you. that is a 10 minute bicycle ride. I live in east Plano so while you would think there isn't much there is tons of things to do.

Check bars and restaurants with bars near you. Look for events they are holding like Karaoke, poker night and so on. Go to the events and make friends. Local bars cater to local people so the people you meet live near by. Start hanging out at their places and doing things with them.

I have been going to plano super bowl and doing Karaoke. I get invited to hang out at peoples places, on their boats and go to their parties. It's all in walking distance. When you get invited to their parties, they generally foot the bill.

I have one, count it, one, bar near me within 5 miles. And it's a hole in the wall, where all the OLD locals go to sit and complain about their wives type of place. I live in Red Oak.

The only other thing I can think of is to go to church. I'm not really looking to drink, but don't take that as me counting a bar out. I know there are other things to do at bars..

Anybody know any free ways to fish, hunt, garden, or anything? Gardening is a passive hobby I'm already doing, but I've been on this whole "I want to be self-sufficient kick" lately. Anybody have any ideas I could do to be proactive with that?

oh oh oh... I have rabbits running around.... Anyone know how to trap?

In fact I do, I just can't really show you on the internet.

but I can give you this link:

first trap I learned to make. Instead of a board, get a concrete slab or flat rock. It'll crush that little fuckers head right away.

I don't want to kill it, yet... I need to make sure It's still fresh.

I live behind a taxidermy, and I want to get the guy who owns it to show me how to skin it properly and salvage the meat. Know how to do that?

why trap when you can kill it indian style?

theres this old native american technique where you use a 24 in heavy wooden stick and throw it to kill your prey. this technique is also described in Style's new book...you will need stealth and stalking skills as well as practice throwing the stick, but hey, it'll keep you busy. :)

if you mean skin and clean, I haven't done it in 20 odd years so I won't try to talk you through it or even do it for ya. Too many things to screw up. Not that it's hard, I just chose to be urban once I hit my mid teens.

As far and trapping it alive, it's the same trap but dig a hole and put a thatch over it big enough to get the rabbit in and unable to get out. you can use a ply board in that case. When the trap is triggered the board or rock pushes the rabbit through the thatch cover and into the hole. Remember to wear gloves because those fuckers can bite and transfer disease.

In answer to the hunting stick post, We used to use small rocks like skipping stones to hunt squirrel. I sucked at it. Trappings better because it takes less patience. If you want to hunt, get a .22. don't waste time with the shit in Styles new book (not that it doesn't work, we just ain't concerned about survival like he was. Even so, trapping's easier.)

You can hang out at the lake for cheap. And if you like fishing you can dig your own earthworms for bait and not spend much.

Into The Wild.

Just don't end up dieing on a bus in the middle of nowhere.

Have you thought about joining the boy scouts?

What you need to do is come up with $15 a month and waste your life away on World of Warcraft.

Or I hear there is a game called Runescape and from what I understand it is free.
