The fact is that there are certain subjects that are best to shy away from initially. But, more than subject matter you need to understand that enthusiasm, emotion, and frequency can also turn normal subjects into ones with the feel of taboo subjects.
An example, and it's been about a year or so, but it highlights the above perfectly. I met a girl that turned out to be a former fat ug. I did not know this when we first met, not that it would have made any difference. Anyway, this girl was pretty hot. Probably one of the hotter chicks that I've pulled. Brunette, thin, nice body, FAKE tits.
Anyway, at our day2 she kept referring to her 'twins' and said that she was drinking her dinner and that she did, and I quote:
HBInsecure: "I did like 600 crunches over the last two days."
Me: "What's a 'crunch'?" Air quotes and all...
HBInsecure: "Seriously...here, feel my abs."
Me: "What does touching your abs have to do with 'crunches'?" Again with the air quotes.
Then she told me about how she lost weight and how hot guys tell her she is now and how she went from a B to a D and blah blah blah.
I mean, I commend her for changing her life. I've done the same, at one point I lost like 90 lbs, so I understand the pride associated with such a change. But Christ I don't drone on and on about it. Sure, I mention it a lot, but I don't talk about it with the frequency and voracity that she did.
The point is that more she talked about health and fitness, the more annoyed I got with her. She basically turned an acceptable conversation into one that had the feeling of a taboo conversation.
The 'twins,' however did not deter me from closing the deal. If it weren't for that, I would have walked...
