There's one question that I've been asked in emails since the day The Game was released. In fact, it's the thing I'm most commonly asked.

It is: "Are there any other books besides The Game that you recommend reading?"

And there are.

So if you want to get in the right headspace to understand some of the fundamental concepts of attraction, social networking, mating, and inner game, here are the TOP FOUR BOOKS that helped me transform.

These are not required reading. Everything will be self-contained in the 31-day challenge. But they are a great way to start thinking like a PUA:

1. Influence: The Art of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini

This is THE classic book on persuasion. And though it focuses on the advertising and consumer worlds, the basic principles it sets forth are the cornerstone of highly successful interactions. This is where the PUAs got key concepts like Social Proof from.

2. The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene

This is a great historical study affirming and elaborating on the main principles of courtship, attraction, and seduction. It's great for long-term sarges. Maddash, in The Game, ended up attracting and marrying a girl who he and his friends considered an "11" by using the principles in this book.

3. Mastering Your Hidden Self: A Guide to the Huna Way by Serge King

This is the book that helped most with my inner game. The lesson: "The world is what you think it is."

4. Introducing Neuro-Linguistic Programming: Psychological Skills for Understanding and Influencing People by Joseph O'Connor and John Seymour

I never found NLP to be the most useful tool for persuading others, but I did find it VERY useful for improving yourself. Some of the principles here will super-charge you on your path to mastery when the going gets rough. (For example, the idea that there is no such thing as failure - only learning lessons.) Others ideas here are great building blocks to create value-demonstrating routines in the field.

BONUS POINT

Walking With Cavemen DVD
The only one of my favorite seduction-related books that I left off the list is The Red Queen by Matt Ridley. This is because, well, you've got enough to read. So if you want a great primer on evolution and the development of the behaviors and instincts we're all trying to grapple with and master here, this program is an enjoyable way to digest it. If you don't feel like buying the DVD, this two-part BBC documentary repeats on the Discovery Channel from time to time.

That completes your basic reading (and watching) list. Choose a favorite or two if you want, and get cracking.
