I know all about missing good beer. Keep going another few thousand miles East. Shiner Black is about the best local beer I know of right now.

A lot of people here like Guiness and Bass. I personally like Boddingtons. I bet I would love the beer in the U.K.

Also, wanted to add that I went to school at UNT...and Denton is supposedly the #1 consumer of Jaeger in the US. You can actually order a Blaster as a drink....

(Blaster is what you call a Jaeger bomb in Denton by the way)

Shiner black? That's a new one I haven't heard of. When did that become available? I know the bock is dark, but they also have a black? Hmmmm...I need to look into this. How does Shiner Black taste compared to say Guinness or Shiner Bock?

My favorite beer is Guinness. If Guinnes isn't available, I like Shiner. Any dark beer really. I absolutely love Maker's Mark straight, no ice, Knobb Creek is a close second and my favorite Scotch is Macallan - neat.

If I drink a mixed a drink, it's usually something like Jack and coke. Why screw up a good whiskey like Makers by using it in a mixed drink?

Whoever stated Johnny Walker above......JW red sucks ass as far as Scotch goes. Even the Johnny Waker Blue. The best Johnny Walker is Johnny Walker Black. If you like blends instead of single malts.

Before I hit the scene, you'll find me drinking Dewar's (the kind aged 12 years)

While I'm out:

Maker's and Diet
Knob and Diet
Crown and Diet
Weller and Diet
Tequila shots
The difference is indifference.

Beer: Fat Tire or Shiner Bock
Otherwise it's cranberry / vodka

I haven't tried Shiner Black yet, I just noticed it on the shelf this week. I'll give it a try next week.

I tried a dirty martini for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Didn't care for the taste too much, but I sure got a buzz off one drink! LOL. Must have been the Vermuth that I wasn't used to.
