I hate that damn VH1 show...

Postby Kalop » Tue Sep 18, 2007 4:31 pm

Dont get me wrong, I like the show... I just hate that its making PUA mainstream.

In last two weeks I've gotten 2 seperate comments from HBs about PUA.

#1) Are you like that mystery guy?
#2) Your one of those player guys like on tv?

F'ing sucks. I treat it like a shit test... but I'm having to rethink my routines and shit... next thing I know I'm going to have some HB say to one of my routines.. "Oh.. (laughing) last week this player guy already did that too me.." or some shit like "I see... next your going to neg me and follow with some kino ... ?"

Sucks!

You must come up with your own stuff! Or at least use stuff that isn't so mainstream.

Learn why Mystery's stuff works and write things of your own using what you've learned.

Okay, I'll tell you what. Is there a story about something that happened in your life that you often tell your friends? Something with a funny ending? Post it here and I'l help you punch it up for use in field.

No charge.

Scoundrel.. that's nice of you man, thanks!

Well... I'm a chiropractor who loves his job... so most of my life revolves around my work... most of my friends are fellow Dr's .... so the shit I tell them that's funny isn't funny to the average Joe or Jane... even my hobbies dont lend itself much to DHV stories.. I like to shoot guns, practice martial arts, lift weights and watch ESPN on weekends.... LOL

I guess I could go WAY BACK to my undergrad years or even high school years when we use to steal pumpkins and put them on top of our school as a prank?

You've never seen something funny happen doing martial arts or lifting weights? I see goofy guys at the gym all the time, like the obviously gay guy with all the spandex on or the kids who put too much weight on and try to bench it.

People don't tend to think their stories are interesting. The challenge is to find something interesting in anything. I started telling a story once about fair food and ended up talking about hiding candy from my dentist, being raised Catholic, and the time I got caught shoplifting when I was a kid.

Really, you don't have to have a Mystery-like story. In fact, I think his stories are too over-the-top even for him.

One thing I do to practice multi-threaded stories is I blog on myspace. I recommend blogging if you need help crafting stories. Plus, try opening at least two threads with everybody you come in contact with. Even if it's just, "how about this weather? blah blah. The Cowboys look pretty good so far, huh?"

What Rhody said.

What do you talk about with your friends? What makes you guys laugh? Give it a little thought and I'm sure you can come up with a way to tell it to non-doctors that will be just as funny. It really isn't hard.

Have you ever been on a trip? Did you know a crazy guy in school? Have you ever done anything bad? Anything ever happen at a party you attended? The list is endless!

Post your story and we'll help you with it. I've done this myself. There are a lot of great guys here!

chiropractoring

Postby etohminer » Wed Sep 19, 2007 5:32 am

dude,

I think if you're working chiropractor, there should be tons of stories! you can talk about the fat guy or girl that come to your office and you have to work on that fat ass trying to lift him/her. Or you can talk about your small coworker girl trying to lift the guy and you had to help her. I think you can have some DHVing in that. Talk about cracking joints and how one buff patient got up and was about to beat your ass until he discovered how AFTER you cracked his joints he was able to have better mobility so he stopped after he was about to manhandle you. man, you have a crap load of good stories to tell, whatcha talking about willis.

I guess maybe we're our own worse critic. sometimes i feel like my job sucks even though i work at a reputable company.

I can understand a little why people do not like Mystery's show. However, I think that most people have missed the point.

This is what he is teaching in a nutshell. And if you think about it, this is what the Whole PUA community is teaching.

All he is teaching is this very simple formula:

Open - Capture her attention
simple stories to get her interested
DHV
Getting past her defense shield

Attraction - building IOIs

Comfort - Get the HB relax

Escalation - Guide her to your goals

This show is about Mystery's techniques. Yes, his techniques will not always work with every woman that we meet and will fit with me.
I remember a PUA that came to Dallas and taught the pony girl story. Since being 50, I feel that it would not work with me sarging a 25 year old HB. Sometimes all we need is just a spark to get our minds working if we are truly committed to changing the way that we have done it in the past.

These are the rules that I apply to everything:
Listen to what they are teaching.
Try to make it fit with your life.
Discuss it here on the board.
Then go out and meet women.
Repeat (most important)!

Understand, this is not about weather you win or you loose, this is about going out and changing the way that you meet women.

Like the Great Red Green would always say at the end of his show:

"We are pulling for you".

Hopes this helps.

Good replies... thanks everyone!

I'm really going to pay attention and start writing down story titles... I did have a patient once fall completely off the freakin' table once back in student clinic... luckily we both got a good laugh out of it... Also was at the gym a few weeks ago when this dude who was on the treadmill dropped his walkman.. the shit flewdown on the pad and shot out againsst the back wall and proceeded to disassemble. Dude puts his feet on the side of the treadmill, leaves it running, then goes and gets his walkman. After reassembling it... he steps back on the treadmill and apparently it was going faster than he thoght b/c his legs flew backwards and he face plants and get ejected out the back... I could hardly finish my workout because I couldn't quit laughing.

ANYONE use Brad P. "horsemouth" opener? I was reading some archives here and that's funniest damn opener Ive seen... is it overplayed now or has anyone use it in field?
