Dallas Community Unite!

Pick up is not dead. It’s not that people are not interested. Things die off because guys organizing the meets get occupied with other things such as getting hitch. Understandably, they lose the interest or time to organize events. The solution is to form an organization to continue operating after guys leave. Maybe a 3-panel member board to run things. If one board member becomes inactive, the other two can chose another to take their place.

This would be a great time to combine the three groups, the two lairs and the meetup group, into one organization formed with one person from each group. The combined resources would be a powerful tool to help the guys in Dallas.

I hope this happens before I leave. The focus is helping the guys, something easier and effectively achieved when the Dallas community is united.

Yeah I have seen ALOT of activity on the meetup group side. The lairs are certainly not designed to survive the test of time.

Don't give up on this board yet. I'm single once again, and will probably have plenty more time to admin the board and I'm sure once I get my head right I'll start meets again (unless someone else steps up before :P )

It would probably be best if there was only one lair in Dallas. It makes it easier for the new guys to find the group, and it pools all the resources into one pot, so instead of posting on multiple sites, you can go to one location and get all the answers that you will get from that lair. I don't see much benefit in keeping everything divided into multiple groups.

Well, the only issue with that is the content here. There's a lot of quality content. In my personal opinion, more than the other board. Now, people can be responsible for moving their own threads over, one person can move the threads over, or Harry Potter comes along and makes Vector appear so I can get access to the database...but that would be such an asswhip.

If you all want on the other board, go. Take the content you think is worthy before it's gone.

It's really not hard hard to use both of the boards. Copy/paste works wonders for posting the same question to each site

I want the author's name on the post, not mine saying "REPOST"

that makes me look try-hard.

No, I mean like you could post the same questions/topics on both boards. That way you can take advantage of content/suggestion from all of the community.

Defeats the purpose of merging the two. Would still be two places to go. The goal is to unify this community of ours.

I will be sending out an email blast and making a sticky post advising people to move their own shit. I'm mainly concerned with stuff in 'Best of...' and a handful of posts from general/lounge that started as a question and ended being a little fountain of good advice.

We will be moving to dallaspua.com instead of the other way around. Vector owns this site, and is pretty much impossible to get a hold of. Mojo has full control over there, so it just makes sense. Plus, their logo is way better than ours...ours looks like the Title of a newspaper.

Questions/concerns/comments? Speak now or forever hold your dick.
