Also, I want to point out that racism isn't illegal, it's what you do with it that may or may not be illegal. lion was not racist at all in his thread, he was not being discriminatory. If he was, he wouldn't have slept with any black woman for being black.

Did he make a stereotype? Yes. But making stereotypes doesn't NOT make you racist. Stereotypes extend beyond race. In your example of the mail order bride, you were stereotyping, not being racist. To be racist, there must be prejudices and discrimination against a race.

This is an embarrassing thread for a bunch of guys in the community. Shouldn't we be able to diffuse a situation without geting knee-jerk defensive? It appears to me that you guys have been storing up a lot of defensive feelings, and Muk simply questioning the thread gave you an opportunity to unload with a torrent of "white can't be wrong" bullshit. No one ever said white can't be wrong. That was stated time and time again in this thread that bad shit happened in the PAST. What has been said is that this thread was not intended to be racist. As for the slavery comment, it was typically misunderstood by a society that has been trained to react to alleged racism. The fact of the matter is that when you're born in America you pretty much have won the geographic lottery...of the millions of souls that are brought into this world every year, any one born here should thank their lucky fucking stars to be here. I mean fuck, just look at our poor in this country...they have TV's, cars, food (when your poor are FAT, then you're a RICH country), etc. By comparison to the rest of the world, our poor are rich.

Quite frankly, I don't give a shit if my family suffered to make it here. I don't care if my ancestors were ever slaves or persecuted or whatever.
