Well...dunno if flake is the word. They were all pretty legit cancelations, but anyway...
I invited some friends over to hang out at my place but a combination of pig flu and dying relatives caused all my friends to flake out. Except an hb that I've been gaming. I'm thinking of cancelling, but I worry it'll dlv me. What should I tell her??

Tell her the truth. Tell her just because some of your friends fell for the swine flu propaganda and decided to get vaccinated and ended up getting swine flu from it and that just because there were some deaths doesn't mean you two can't party like it's 1999. You can still show her a good time.

Or you can make up something like "well all my friends want to go do yadda yadda yadda but I don't want to do that so let's you and me paint the town red".

Here's a tip: if you think it will DLV you then it will. Act like it isn't a DLV and it won't DLV. It's all in the mind.
