Car shopping...........

Postby Guest » Sat May 01, 2010 8:47 pm

Ok gents...

Looks like my nice paid off car is going to be totaled. I was on a day 2 last weekend and got rear-ended on the way to our destination.

So, just looking for some feedback and input.

I'm wanting something realistic for your avg joe. I tend to like my cars whited out or blacked out. I don't just want a point a to b car.

Toss anything or thoughts out there you can. I want something between sporty and classy. I don't have a problem with finding a gem that I can make look amazing. I know more than anyone label doesn't matter..

But, Here's my list so far:

Nissan 350/370Z, Ford F150 (blacked out), Chevy Camaro, Mitsubishi Lancer ( maybe evo), Toyota FJ cruiser ( all white ), Ranger Rover ($), acura tl, entry level bmw, lexus IS.

I drive a 350Z and love it. But, if I could do it again, I'd be rolling around in an old Ford Bronco.

Don't forget to look back in time at vintage cars as well.

I also drive a 350z and love it.

Your list has a good mix of cars. Some sports cars that are also classy that I like are the lexus IS, Infiniti g35/37 or Hyundai genesis.

If I was car shopping again, I'd definitely be very attracted to the new BMW 335i sports coupe. Very sportsy and classy with a great body style.

When all is said and done, YOU will be driving the car, so pick something for you! Something you'd enjoy everyday...

Ford Bronco's are my all time favorite automobile. Too bad they get about 12 mpg's.

The Plymouth muscle cars from the 70's are unbeatable.

I'm a big fan of old pickup trucks, especially the Dodge Lil' Red Express.

The only current sports car I feel can match the balls of the 70' muscle cars is the Dodge Challenger.

I drive a Ford F150 truck, and I love it. Comfortable as hell, never breaks down. But I spend like 5 hours a day in the car.

Blacked out newest body Tahoe. Lade if your budget supports it.

New Hyundai Genesis Coupe. I have always hated this car company but man that car is the best looking car in that price range. G37 is a close second.

Always liked the Range Rovers if you have the budget. I would drive one if I didn't need the extra room the lade gives.

I hate low end BMW's as it seems try hard. They do say though a huge % of people who buy entry level BMW's end up buying 5,7 series down the road.

I drive a honda s2000 and i love the car itself, nothing like a car that revs up to 9k rpm, makes me jizz my pants everytime. But if i could do it again, i'd just stick to my 3k dollar subaru. Sure, its not as sporty, but its reliable and does what a car is supposed to do.

Out of the list of cars you made, i'd probably go with the acura. As you can see just from this thread, too many people drive a 350z. They're every fuckin where. Ford aren't too reliable, and neither are hyundais. Entry level bmws and porsches are known as the poor man's car. So they won't get you that status that you're lookin for.

I drive a 2003 Acura CL Type-S. I love it. In fact, I have thought about trading it in a couple of times, but whenever I test drive something, it doesn't seem to have the same power and solid build as my CL. So I end up keeping it. I have driven the TSX and the RDX and I didn't like them. The TL is a nice powerful car though.

Two people doesn't equate to everyone. Personally, I'm not sure there's a sports car in that price range that beats a Z with respect to performance, styling, and luxury. Part of the reason you think you see so many on the roads is because they stand out from the crowd. I can tell you that every single chick that has ever crawled in that car has begged to drive it (if they didn't have one of their own) or loved riding in it.
