Hey PUAs.
I'm new to the art of the pickup. I'm currently reading "The Game", and I'm learning some really interesting ideas/methods of seduction. I've got a lot of reading ahead of me atm, as I'm still learning the plays. (any help with websites, books, or techniques I should be trying would be wonderful) I will be lurking mostly for a couple of months while I get into better shape/more comfortable with the fear of rejection, ect. I hope to see you guys out and about sometime.

I have to say, taking a few months to read material isn't the best thing to do. You have to practice it to internalize it. At least get out of your house or office and practice being a chatty, friendly person. Chat up everybody, young or old, male or female, ugly or attractive. Make innoccuous comments to strangers about everything. You'll find that it doesn't hurt you, which will help your "fear of rejection" tremendously.

Also, while you're in this studying mode, study people's body language. Try to figure out who the dominant person is in a group. Try to figure out if a woman is attracted to a man, or vice versa, based on their body language. Practice making and maintaining eye contact with women and study their reactions. I'm just saying, don't just read material.

I'd have to agree. Go out, even if it's just a little, and talk to strangers. You don't have to hit on women, just talk to people.

Then when you do read stuff you will get more out of it because you will be able to relate better.

I'd say when you get to the point where the stuff you read begins to sound redundant or contradictory, your book learning is going to start helping you much less, especially the contradictory stuff you'll inevitably come across. It can hurt your game because you can get too much in your own head.

It's like many other skills. You can learn a lot about playing a musical intrument by reading about it. But you have to actually do it to get the skill.

Travesty, PLEASE, drop the book, right now, (you can pick it back up later), find your closest bar, and start talking to people. Do it. Do it now. Tonight when you get home and read this, put on your pimp gear find the closet bar, or social gathering and go talk to everyone and their mom... literally. Their moms. If you see a family, talk to them, if you see a guy and a girl, hit on the guy ... then the girl(very important guy then girl) I mean it, hit on him and then tell him your not gay.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to head out later this week (work does not allow surging all week) and start my transformation into more of a social butterfly.

It's not like I sit at home all day everyday. I do go out, and I do socialize with strangers, so maybe this isn't as difficult as I originally thought.
