How to pick a method?

Here is what I did:

I decided that, after reading the Game and Mystery Method, that using just one method would leave your game with holes in it. What if a girl has seen the show and knows the material? etc etc. So, what I did...and looking back I took it a bit overboard...but I studied many (basically every single thing I could download from a private seduction torrent site) and took bits and pieces that I succeeded with or didn't sound creepy and mushed them together in to my own method stew.

Like I said...I had a period of information overload. I strongly recommend study a little, practice a lot. This way you'll not only have a more personalized method of working your life, you'll set yourself up to quickly start making your own material and progress to a more natural way of talking to/picking up women.

What are my strengths...

I'm good at trivia (I had a friend tell me once that I should play Trivial Pursuit with girls and that that would impress them)

I have a good mind for logical analysis

I'm halfway decent at pinball

I know how to dance to one style of music (ska)

I'm good at strategy and tactics (ie boardgames)

I'm good at some video games.

Most of these obviously don't apply too well to pickup. :)

That tells me that you mind probably thinks strategically. This is good.

Think about when you are talking to a girl. There are so many ways to respond to what she is saying, doing. With your mind you should be able to come up with the best route on the fly. This is highly important when you are trying to win over this girl in the early stages. You are walking on egg shells so to speak, unless of course the girl is just drooling all over you(rare).

I like Smirks recommendation. Study all sorts of different techniques and mesh them together. All these gurus probably have some level of success with women. This means that there are all sorts of different methods that should work. Take the best, or what works for you, from each guru and make your own recipe. It takes time but eventually you should have a system in place that yields good results on many occasions.

I'm cautioning *against* the grab bag approach. Pick a guy and stick with it for a month, then move on to the next one. If you take only the parts you want, you're not going to do the things that don't make sense, and those are the things you probably need the most.

Also, I'm not saying study a guy for a month. I'm saying use one method for a month. Big difference. Bare minimum: four times a week, 30 minutes per time. There's no reason to hole up with an e-book. That comes later.

Now, having spent a bit of time with you, I'd recommend Adam Lyons. He's got a lot of the methodical-ness of Mystery, but there's this no-ceiling attitude that you'd really dig. Now, I think he'd be the first to say stay away from direct game. Most people are unlikely to have a natural foundation in it, so it's something you'll branch off into later.
