I think the female thinking must go something like this: We're just meeting out for drinks or food, it's no big deal, I kinda feel nervous so I'm gonna cancel. He'll ask me out again. They always do. And next time I'll probably feel more like going out on a first date.

However, when it's a Ranger's game, she's probably assuming I've already purchased tickets and if she flakes at the last minute, I'm gonna lose the money I've spent on those tickets. She feels a RISK that I'll be so pissed I'll never call her again. So rather than RISK never hearing from me again, she forces herself to find the stones to actually show up.

i totally agree wiyh this!!

I agree with the comments about trust and have posted as such may times in the past. Establishing trust is one of the most important if not the most important steps in the process. This is in particular true for cold approach in a bar and that stands to reason because she does not know you plus most of the guys are asses out there. I have previously also contended this is the origin of (most) shit testing.

You have several methods available to establish trust. The best PUA can do so just from BL, talking and creating a connection with the (interested) girl however that is also the most difficult way. You have to be very nimble and strong on you game. Useful tactics do exist to help the process e.g. using attractive pivots or other social value building tactics like strategically friending important members of her social set. Either way you get to the same point and she can "make the move" so I guess use the tactics to make it easier where applicable.

Attraction is either going to be there or not (and this can also be fleeting - think of it more a window of opportunity). Posters have mentioned to assume attraction. I understand where they are coming from however, as with so many concepts in this field, that statement can be so easily misconstrued. I think of it to always be flirting .. subtly escalating the tone and watching for cues from the women you are gaming. You are going to have to have her co-operation here! Make yourself open to her "approach" - this has typically been the progression from my experience. Combined with correct BL and understanding of how women move from meet -> lay you can ride their own "shute of progression" and effectively slip through the back door (no puns intended!)..

I come down on the other side of the fence here. I never, ever, ever plan anything when I set up a day2. It's just not my style. Usually if I pick them up or they come over I have zero idea of what we're going to do, but I always figure out something cool to do. In my younger days I used to fret over where we were going to go. I used to think that I should take her on a Hutch-like date to Ellis Island so my date could see the name of her grandpa that immigrated to the States. Then, I realized something...she's there for you, not what you're doing.

With that in mind, a girl will not flake if you have tickets to a game. Why? Because it's a rare, special occasion for a lot of girls to go and be glamorous at a game. So, she's going to go to the GAME in spite of the company she's with...

You don't want that. It's better to have her go with YOU in spite of the venue you attend than the other way around.

The way I see it, don't invest too much in anyone until they have shown themselves to be a good investment. Do your proper due diligence. This can be done on the cheap with a drink after work or on an 'off night.' Don't try to get them on a weekend. They have too many options, so it's either go out with the girls, go out with one of the guys they're more than likely fucking, or go out with some dude that got their number at the bar a few days ago. Which would you choose?

After work and off nights are perfect because they are so low investment. She doesn't have to concern herself with what to wear, AS MUCH, because she's probably dressed for work or for the casualness of the weekend (i.e. Sunday afternoon, Saturday at lunch, etc.). You both have a finite amount of time to be together. On workdays, she has to go home at a reasonable amount of time which provides her with an investment backstop...in other words, she can easily escape if it's not going well...so can you. If you 'just have a drink' or 'just have coffee' then you don't have to worry about sticking around for a long arduous 'date.' If it's not going well, you finish your drink and politely say goodbye. Period.

Don't waste your time, energy, and money on someone that you don't even know. If you don't want them to flake on you, them spend some more time in comfort. Actually call them on the phone. Make a connection. Then, get her out with you for something that does not require a lot of investment for either party.

I'm gonna post my $.02 on the topic of first dates. I think most guys put way too much pressure on getting the first date. Women sense this and, in turn, feel pressured and back out at the last minute. I personally loathe first dates. There is nothing I would rather do less than go to dinner and movie with some chick I don't know. In the past 4 years I have been on 3 first dates - one turned into a girlfriend, one we stood around completely bored all night and ended up f'in at my apt, the 3rd was good until I got threatened with death by a random parolee (which made it super funny, until I didn't get laid and had to go home alone). All 3 were set up at the last minute.

So here's the wisdom of the ol' Lion......

Don't set up first dates. Ever. Period.

Text that trick at the last minute and say "Come over" "Let's go to xyz" "I've been slaving over a hot microwave all day, come over for dinner at 8" "My date cancelled, want to see a movie?". Anything, but don't build it up for hours or days.

Bada bing, next thing you know you're up to your nuts in guts.

And to think everyone is saying to themselves...doesn't that make me sound low value if some hooker canceled a date on me? I am actually baffled that it came out of Lion's mouth. I don't see this working for setting up a FIRST DATE. Maybe with some random hooker you have already taken out or are already nailing.

However I pretty much agree with Bull Run and Lion.

I would much rather keep things very simple. A meeting at a bar is my number one choice. Since booze equals loosening up by both parties and typically leads to sex on the first date. That is my goal anyways since for the most part in my gaming days I cared nothing about relationships. Unless they were the fuck buddy type.

I don't do dinner dates or mavs games or anything like that until I am actually fucking the girl and tend to enjoy her company. That is pretty much the only way I am going to start dropping C Notes(<--- This is a $100 bill since no one at the dinner table last weekend seemed to know what a C Note was).

I will on rare occasions (I am not sure why) take a girl to Sushi on the first date. I was probably craving sushi or found out the girl really liked sushi or whatever the reason. This is very very rare and usually ended up well.

Have a nice day.

Ah, bullcorn! There are so many ways to get a girl out. You don't have always have to be pretend high-value, you can show some pretend humility. You've got to have some balls for the line to work. There are many paths to go....

"My date cancelled, let's go see a movie"
Why did your date cancel?
"She drove off a cliff, she's dead. The hangover looks funny"

"My date cancelled, let's go see a movie"
Why did your date cancel?
"I was taking my niece to go see High School Musical 18 but her dog is sick and she wanted to stay with him"

"My date cancelled, let's go see a movie"
Why did you date cancel?
"She said she gotfuckedwaytoohardlastnightbyme. Pelham 123 looks cool"

If I was a single man I would use this line on the next 5, 10 , 15 girls and post the results. Sadly, I can't. But I think someone should oepn a thread specifically to try out this line on a bunch of dames.
